Edison didn't have the body of knowledge to start with that modern companies do. So when people bash Apple about taking longer to roll a feature out I see that as a waiting to see if it's something that will last, reducing risk as much as possible.

Because instead of spitballing like Google and Microsoft, Apple spends the time refining a few good ideas. Why dump millions into something you may kill off in a year?
