Are Stewart's impressions of Obama less racist? Impersonating Cain is like impersonating someone doing an impersonating of a possibly racist stereotype. Is the answer that NO ONE can impersonate Cain? Does that make Cain the politician, then, off limits? And is keeping him off limits for that reason not also

Well, he was pretty great in Captain Phillips.

If Jon's impersonations were somehow better would this make a difference? He's really not supposed to be a spot-on impersonator, Rich Little style. Part of the humor derives from the fact that he's not an exact replica.

Ha. Nicely played.

It doesn't feel like a tribute to me, it feels more like a crass cash in on someone else's name. And of all songs that don't require an interactive video (cool though it may be) this is the one. Because what is the intent here, I interact with Google and look for all the sad stories about Robin? And some of the

Trevor Noah conducted that interview or Obama participated in that interview?!?

That assumes that a full 22 minutes of Trevor Noah and correspondents will be something worth seeing.

True. Although I bet it takes years for The Daily Show to re-build it's cachet of high caliber guests willing to come on and talk to the new guy.

Ugh, I thought the same thing. The fact that I thought Javier Bardem and Brad Garrett might be interchangeable made me want to just go back to bed and call it a day.

I'm nowhere near 80 and agree with him fully.

She wasn't going to make $30 million a year, first of all. Just because JS was after 16 years doesn't mean the next person in the seat is getting that.

Perhaps there was. Undoubtedly there has been rumblings of JS's discontent there for some time. It could very well be that some correspondents were approached and declined as well. In fact, Samantha Bee, Jason Jones, et al, would have even LESS reason to want to try to fill Stewart's shoes—they know him all too well

My point is that he evidently finds far greater enjoyment these days in making music, not movies. He's certainly not above taking the paycheck movie, but his actual energy is funneled elsewhere. *

Should it be pointed out that this sketch literally IS his SNL stuff?

Way to not be within even a light year of the point.

As is putting a live chicken in your underwear.

In addition to this being one of my favorite things ever, I do also love his "atheists ain't got no songs" ditty:

I don't think he's lazy at all. But he does find much enjoyment in other things that are not movies or necessarily comedic. I could watch his band play for hours.

Could just be me, but seems like being a big fan of Steve Martin is incongruent to not enjoying his stand up comedy and comedy of that era which arguably made him who he is today. Even when he was "silly" he was cerebral as any of his stand up albums would attest.

And got re-referenced in the episode with the 178 year old photographer (played by Geoffrey Lewis) who finally gets to die but possibly at the expense of pushing off his immortality onto Scully.
