Great article (always nice to see Watt, Hurley, and Ed get some love anywhere). That being said, why leave us hanging? There has to be some good live bootlegs of fIREHOSE kicking around on the internet. Anyone here have any/know of any specifically great ones kicking around? Somehow I doubt we'll ever get a proper

Amen.

I think you worded all that extremely well, sir. I think a lot of people on the younger end of things see it this way too when it comes to choosing their involvement in faith or spiritual beliefs, hence the largescale move away from "The Church" so to speak.

I'd prefer not to have to, because I definitely agree with you that there are a lot of people who don't fall into that category whatsoever. That being said, like any other kind of blanket term disliking, I think it happens a lot and tends to hurt more those who aren't really specifically the targets of it.

Bravo, sir.

My parents hated that it was on a space station, plain and simple. That never made sense to me as they were still in space and there was plenty of aliens around, but that was generally their take on it. I'm slowly breaking them on it lately, but I don't think they'll ever really allow it in.

Well said. It's something I've come to appreciate in the show too more as I got older. Being raised in a fairly religious family (although being largely nonpracticing myself) it can be really hard to hear the near constant battering of organized religion (largely Christians) in the media, because I am around people

I'll donate a few thousand self sealing stembolts to that SuperPAC.

Nice sum-up of the First Season, Zack. I, like many others I'm sure, was fairly young when the show first debuted and unfortunately my parents (long time Trek nerds) were not willing to give it a chance when it first hit the airwaves due to their attachment to TOS and TNG. The show continued it's black sheep rep in my

Or Life Aquatic? They skipped all the fish stuff!

IT'S A FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE

Also, I can't wait to see what Rappin' Jake Sisko has for us this week.

I'm surprised you didn't address the hype leading up to this episode on these very comments and whether or not it lived up to it. I appreciate the deep analysis of the ideas, but I missed your usual analysis of each episode in context to the show itself/the season. What were your thoughts on that, Zack?

No love for the Figgs? Boo!

Agreed. Nice to see some love for DS9 lately.

Is it "of"? We always took it from the scene where Odo is bothering him in his quarters about it. We've also been known to just randomly say (read: shout) things in the 'crazy Sisko' voice. i.e. "MR. WORF! DO YOU. LIKE. BASE. BALL."

Also have to love this episode just for the one of (sadly, too many) DS9-related injokes in our house. Finding ways to work "… A CLOCK!" into sentences.

At last, the perfect profile pic. REAL verses as usual, RJS.
