Imho it’s a Soulsborne game so everything that’s inherently possible is fair game. Eg. I believe I never not cheesed on Ceaseless Discharge, but I got O&S and 4 Kings on NG+ so I also don’t care.

YES!! I play games to have fun. When I play Splinter Cell or Hitman, I want to feel like Jason Bourne. If I don’t I WILL fucking mod it until I feel like I’m enjoying the game. Why the FUCK should anyone else, even the developers, care what I do in the privacy of my own home?
Absolutely. The gatekeeping is the main problem.
Exactly. I mean, I get it if videogames are a large portion of what you do; I understand that’s part of your identity. But another player’s experiences aren’t necessarily an attack on yours.
That is exactly what their problem is. For whatever reason, a not insignificant chunk of their self-worth is tied up in the ability to see the credits of a video game. And if other people see those credits without suffering as much as they did, they feel it takes away their own “achievement”
Yeah, it boils down to gatekeeping based off of some sort of personal pride in a game accomplishment, and taking that WAY too seriously.
People keep asking why this is a thing (others judging how someone plays a game, especially a single player one), and I think the main reason is pretty simple:
positing that the sheer existence of an “easy” mode would taint a developer’s vision or cheapen the accomplishment of beating a tough game.
It’s pretty weird how attitudes towards “cheating” in video games have evolved over the years. I remember when I was a kid, the primary value of things like “video game magazines” was that they had the cheats in them. I knew one kid who was was briefly the coolest kid in school since he was the first in his peer…
This makes the arm bleed.
Now I also want a “pet your cat” in video games.
Hopefully just trolling Solasmancers?
I’m consistently surprised and disappointed by EA’s continuous focus on live service features in their single player games like ME and DA, when such a critically and commercially successful example of a story-focused single player fantasy RPG has been out for years: Witcher 3. Even more recently, Sony's first party…
...I got way too far into that before I caught myself.
Caught wind of some early rumors on the story. Apparently, it takes place thousands of days after the events of Dragon Age Inquisition. You’re part of a band of folks placed on boats and shipped off to unknown lands to preserve mankind in case the rift stuff goes south. You’re the son/daughter of a Roadseeker, and you…
I loved DA2, and Joplin sounded like it was right up my alley. As a non-loot shooter person, some of the ideas of Morrison as a service do not interest me. Instead of saying it's like Diablo 3 multiplayer, it sounds more like The Old Republic. I don't want a party full of jabronis and pudwhackers, I'd like a party…
A LOT of games are Steam only. Like an egregious number of them. People will try and dress that up by saying you can buy these games elsewhere like Amazon or other game stores but the thing is, all of those game stores give you Steam Keys meaning—whether you want it or not—you are *forced* into the Steam ecosystem and…
Quick survey: how many PC games have been Steam only? I’m no expert, so I only look to GoG for comparison, but I strongly suspect that this number is non-zero.
lol k dude
I will never understand the childish anger of internet gamer bros. I get the social/cultural/political roots of it, I just can’t imagine being so angry over something so miniscule. I like to believe it’s just teenagers who don’t know any better, but it’s so often overemotional adult men. It blows my mind every time…
