Seriously, I had such a shitty time trying to buy a V90 I walked out after 4 hours and ordered a Tesla when I got home.

I have a 2019 Malibu as my daily driver, and every day I am reminded of GM’s showcase of cost-cutting in the interior. I absolutely loathe GM for giving up on sedans, and it clearly shows in the effort put in by the designers. That being said, the infotainment system is super easy to navigate. It’s about the only

GM engines and transmissions are generally wonderful. It’s the rest of the vehicle that is questionable. Occasionally the engineers pull a fast one on the bean-counters and get a really good car into the wild. Then it’s up to owners to maintain them.

Growing up the son of a GM dealer mechanic I was taught two things stay away from the salesmen (everyone of them was a crook) and when you wanted a car that would start on a -20c morning that would keep the windows defrosted drive an American car.

and give them a mounting system so we can carry one on each side like panniers.

This rules.

I have to imagine a convertible top absolutely kills range. There’s a reason all the Teslas are shaped like jelly beans.

All the sorority girls will be dying for one of these

The former sub OppositeLock is now elsewhere on an independent platform and stronger than ever....come join us!

Looks very similar in all aspects to the 2014 335i GT that I ended up with, hatch and all, but the engine is transverse. The VW even has the same back seat super comfy legroom from the long wheelbase. I ended up getting this for basically all the reasons you approved of the VW, gonna be my Dad mobile in a few years so

Woah, when the hell did they put 400 hp in a MKZ?  I just checked the website to be, sure....there it is.  I thought the damn thing was cut along with all the other Ford sedans.

So, why aren’t people buying these? Honestly, because people are dummies still smitten with crossovers and SUVs, for some reason. I don’t get it. You wouldn’t really be giving up anything with an Arteon over an SUV you weren’t planning to off-road (and, let’s be honest, most buyers won’t even drive over a curb).

Without a PR department...who knows.

That’s a damn shame. I love the interior just the way it is.

What is this, a car for ants?

Pratt and Whitney

This plan relies on the average Tesla buyer being a blindly brand loyal idiot who just wants to be able to say they drive a Tesla for their social status and don’t actually care about having the best car.

What a great article. We need more uplifting/inspirational articles like this

Thanks for mentioning Ed Welburn, one of the best car designers of our times.

So, basically like a Volt or Accord Hybrid (and, I believe, the new CR-V Hybrid), but Nissan cheaped out and didn’t add in a direct-drive for interstate travel. I’d think that would be the big hold-up with US sales, I can’t imagine the highway fuel economy is any better than a traditional drivetrain - and could easily
