I can’t +1 this enough times. As much shit as GM is getting from people who say they should have made it a hardcore off-roader, the (trail)blazer could very easily end up outselling the Bronco. Those sales figures are really all that matters -- GM and Ford aren’t pouring billions of dollars into development just to

The only people who cared about the name weren't going to buy them anyways. GM could've named it Camaro II and it would've sold just as well.

1st Gear: Naming conventions be damned the Blazer and Trailblazer are both actually really good vehicles and they are both selling like hot cakes.

I don’t get the hate for the electric Hummer. It seems like the best type of vehicle to electrify. People are going to drive Hummer sized vehicles whether they run on gas, diesel, fry oil, recycled Kia Sephias, babies, or electricity. NOTHING will infringe upon our RIGHT to own THE BIG CARS. There’s no reason for them

True. ICEs have thousands of moving parts that, these days, are mostly plastic that’s designed to break after 5 years. (I know this makes me sound jaded, but it’s true.) EVs do not. And the thing that drives me insane is people like my stepfather who don’t drive enough to complain about range. He works from home, and

What if some of that additional inconvenience removed other inconveniences? Would you accept a trade-off of inconveniences? Like some inconvenience on road trips but less inconvenience during the rest of the year?

Isn’t that an Alexa?

Erm... you know that has made production? As the Polestar 1?

GM is slow to roll things out because they are cautious, overly cautious sometimes sure. SuperCruise has been spied on the 2022 Silveado prototypes and the Bolt EUV so it’ll be rolling out to lots of vehicles.
Fix on the fly doesn’t work for big manufacturers (well maybe for Chrysler and Co.. when they do have new

That’s the CTS-V... ATS is perfectly fine with the twin turbo 6.

I’ve yet to talk to anyone who’s driven both that thinks the Tesla system works better. But I only know a handful of people who’ve driven a Cadillac with super cruise.

1st Gear: Anecdotal but an acquaintance who works on autonomous sensors at Continental AG has said the same thing. Super Cruise is the most advanced system out today.

G8 Ute!

Agreed, I’m not sure why this story is making it’s rounds as if it’s shocking. I’m not sure what people wanted GM/ Ford to do, especially in the 70's. They’re in an extremely competitive space with low profit margins. There is/was literally no incentive for them to change their operations.

1st. Gear: Publicly held companies have one mission, to generate returns for shareholders.

An now that a large number of people are convinced that science and research are liberal conspiracies this reporting will be waved off as fake news.

THIS is the hummer EV story I was waiting for. Good deep dive on the CV’s, they look like a good solution to the problem, even if they do lookstudded for her pleasure”.

These “near T-boning” events are... Not that... given they’re being a bit aggressive but what they’re looking at is the projected location of the opposing vehicles, which in all referenced scenarios was precisely not in the way. Record yourself the next time you drive in SF and see if you don’t naturally do the same

It’s amazing. Showing what can be done by one of the largest manufacturers on the planet. Every other EV company will take notice, as should any auto company. GM has been criticized for being late to the game, but what they have actually been doing is getting coordinated to dominate the EV space in the next decade and

I like it. Like almost everyone, I can’t afford it. But the more EV options, particularly EV trucks, there are, the better. And the more likely they are to become more affordable.
