SpaceX has been a great success and I applaud all of the engineering genius that has gone into it.

I think it is going to be tough for Tesla to match SpaceX as a disruptive force, though. The engineering behind Tesla is obviously impressive, but spacecraft are essentially bespoke units built by technical master

They’ve certainly got a foothold but they are still on very Shakey ground. They have their real challenge ahead of than in the next 5 years

Don’t be thinking small. Think BIG. Think Continental. Think New Yorker. Think Delta 88. Tbink about all those smooth-riding malaise-yachts with 150 horsepower lumps. Imagine doubling or tripling the power of one of those things and gliding along in silent splendor...

What doesn’t get you any energy at night? Yep, solar.

Here’s a quiet MAN to soothe you.

First Gear: EVs are transforming cars. $100k EVs have performance that is more than what any non-race driver can access. We are getting to the Syndrome point with super cars as a result.

Agreed. After the value cratered, GM most likely will be asking for a stake proportional to that to make up for it. Nikola is so desperate at this point, they’ll likely agree to whatever onerous terms are put forth. For the given benefits GM will probably take whatever reputational hit there is (cynics will say they

GM is probably renegotiating for a larger ownership stake. GM has nothing to lose: Nikola agreed to pay GM’s costs plus a profit margin for production of their truck on existing production lines, plus EV credits, plus $700M cash, plus 11% ownership stake. Only thing GM loses is reputation for working with a bunch of

Am I alone in seeing a LOT of the Lada Riva in that Great Wall concept? They truly polished that excrement to a wonderful shine.  Probably just as good a car too.

Yes, they are the same color.

Fuck the dealer lobby

When I got my Stinger, I cross shopped it with the newest Accord, which couldn’t measure up in the fun dept. At the time in 2018, if the TLX were like this one instead of the dated last gen, I would’ve had a serious deliberation (though I probably still would’ve gotten my Stinger).

Your average consumer won’t care. It will feel quick due to its instant torque, which is enough. It’s easily fast enough to move with traffic.

That’s very nice-looking. Love the color and the paint as well. It’s got one major flaw in my opinion: lack of physical buttons.

Tesla =/= SpaceX. They are two different companies doing two different things. I don’t understand why Tesla keeps getting credit for SpaceX’s achievements.

I know the Simpson’s memes rule this comment section, but whenever I think of monorail, I think of Epcot. I went there soon after it was opened. I was so excited as a kid to see this super futuristic train. Then I rode it, and it was boring. Then I saw the future at Epcot.... and it was boring, too.

It’s more of a Shelbyville idea, anyway.

The lack of Simpsons references makes me sad.

All that gif needs is the sound of bowling pins falling down.

Clearly we are only months away from FSD.
