i LOVE fincher and everything he has done, but i dont get why people want to reboot utopia so badly. part of the reason i loved it was just the cinematography and color grading and the whole just weird vibe of it, so when remaking it those elements would surely go missing.. so why bother at all then.

there was a massive backlash against the show selfie just based on the name. maybe people have gotten used to it by now, but back then people reacted much more strongly to it. would be comparable to putting out a show now called “dabbing on fleek” or something

i miss this so much. this site helped me discover so many lesser known series, that turned out to be my absolute favorite. nowadays i turn on netflix and dont recognize half of their new featured stuff, and avclub instead is still covering dreck like modern family and will and grace. ugh.

i think the tv show is surprisingly ok. they got a lot of shit back then for it but its pretty obvious while watching that the producers basically told them “do whatever, act as stupid as possible” and both girls just ran with it.
