- How many breakfasts do you eat?
I’ve pretty much decided that wearable tech is mostly useful for people (like me) with ADHD. Anything whose primary goal is to remind you is useful for people with ADHD because we will literally forget that we have decided to try and do a thing. Other people decide to do a thing, and whether or not they do it is based…
Obligatory “correlation doesn’t prove causation.” The people who spend the most time sitting down have the most health problems does not necessarily mean that less sitting down = less health problems. Consider that people with chronic health problems spend more time sitting down because they are unable to exercise…
I lived in the suburbs with no bus system and I never wanted a car and had no interest in learning to drive. (Apparently, what I told my mom was, “I don’t go anywhere but the library.”)
I was just going to make a post about this. This is absolutely the issue with a friend of mine. I’m perfectly fine being leaned on; I call myself the “mom friend” of our group because I’m constantly taking care of everyone, and I enjoy it. What I don’t enjoy is when the only aspect of the friendship is their need,…
I think a lot of this also has to do with 1) your typing speed, and 2) a combination of how fast you think and how fast you get distracted (perhaps we’ll call this the “ADHD factor—I say this as a person with ADHD).
First day working at the grocery store, I walked in to see my manager (of the deli) arguing with someone (higher up in the chain somewhere, I assume). After about ten minutes, he said, “Fuck this, I’m leaving,” and threw his hat on the floor (literally) and walked out. Never came back. There was a lot of scrambling in…
Can’t speak for this model, but I have a Fujitsu Lifebook which features full rotation, which arguably should be riskier than just the flip feature since it’s only attached by a very small piece in the center of the screen. Had it for four years now and I’ve got absolutely no fear it’ll break. And the things been…

Yeah, this doesn’t work for poor people.
See, my first thought at “mom friend” was “that one friend who’s everyone’s mom.” Predominant in college, there’s one in every friend group who becomes the replacement mom. The one who always has Tylenol and pads and snacks, and makes sure you always eat dinner, and scolds you for not getting enough sleep, and plans…
I’m an asexual lesbian so I don’t even have to worry about the pregnancy test! :) I’m actually only taking it so I don’t have my period. I started using the 3-month regime to only have my period every for three months, but after my doctor gave the okay, I’ve been taking it continuously and it’s glorious. I don’t know…
I asked my obgyn “Are there any side effects of skipping the placebo pills?”
I always wonder this. If you don’t have the space or it’s frustrating you, sure. But there seems to be a constant push towards ALWAYS DOWNSIZING ALL THE TIME nowadays.
Abled people are incredible.
Mid-term elections are going to be occurring while I’m in my first year of graduate school, which basically guarantees I’ll be holed up in my room with no outside contact to the rest of the world for months on end, and will need the reminder to 1) register 2) research candidates and 3) vote.
Another installment in “Hiring Managers Hate Autistic People,” more at 11.
I’ve spent almost four years in the same college, with nearly all of my classes in the same building, in a building that is literally a square, and I still can’t figure out which direction the bathroom is when I’m not on the first floor.
Ah, didn’t know about the notes! That does improve it some. And I do get having only one alert, now that you explain that. However, I was thinking that this would let me put multiple alerts at multiple places. As it is, it seems like I would have to set it every time I go to work (well, school in my case) and come…
Oh... can you not set an alert for more than one thing at a time? Because every time I try and set an alert for, say, my water bottle, it tells me, “You have already set an alert for Keys.”
My solution to always forgetting things has been keeping doubles in my car. One water bottle in my room, one in my car. One cane by the door, one in my car. One hat in the closet, one in my car. That way if I forget to bring one of the many things I have to remember, I’ll have one in the car and don’t have to go back.
