You’d need a whole lot more than 100bhp to make up 1.5 seconds per lap, in fact the ACR would need more of everything because 1.5 seconds is a lot slower per lap.
Only? And you call yourself an auto enthusiast?

Love this comment.
You want to thrash cars for short distances in confined areas? Deliver pizza in Hoboken.
No. A car in neutral uses gas. A car in gear, going downhill, uses NO gas. None, Zero, Nothing. Therefore, staying in gear while going downhill is much better than staying in neutral.
If for no other reason because it hasn't been raised in more than two decades and USs road infrastructure is quite literally crumbling as a result.
The best way to get people to buy electric is to raise the gas tax (you’d probably want to offset that with some sort of transportation credit). That makes electrics more competitive, but also would encourage better fuel economy in general.
Putting the obvious consequence of the multiple billion dollar fines on the table isn’t blackmail. Politicians and bureaucrats are rarely able to connect dots.

He's known for not mincing his words and telling the team and the press exactly how he feels…
$6500 will buy you a lot of nostalgia. I suppose the follow up question is, “Is early 80's GM really an era worth being nostalgic about?”
At $2500 I’d still be on the NP/CP fence.
OTOH, we Jalops are always complaining that automakers these days don’t take enough risks on unusual or niche vehicles. We think they’re going after the wrong niches, but at least it’s something? Right? Gotta find a silver lining once in a while. At least this thing isn’t offensively ugly like the Murano.
Interstate commerce is explicitly the jurisdiction of the Federal government.
The fedgov has forced things upon the states. 55mph NMSL, 0.08 BAC, and others.
Until they decide to focus on actual driver training and education, anything else they do is looking at the wrong issues.
