IMO new leaders was absolutely necessary - It’s an amazing feature and was very underused across the entire lifespan of the game since only 3-4 civs have it even as an option.

I’ll give them that actually updating the AI so it isn’t an extremely unfun AI to play against isn’t the most marketable (and sellable) feature of a video game expansion.

Typically the community will eventually split into people who run stuff like Any%, and others who do Any% NMG (no major glitches) or something like Any% No Console, etc.

Numbers watching aren’t necessarily concurrent players that will play. That being said, it does show interest once they open the gates, so to speak.

To me, remakes are the only way we’ll see some games legally stateside. I don’t mind going emulated for stuff that didn’t come out here, but I’d rather have the opportunity to gush about a game without saying first you gotta hit the warehouse and then get bizhawk or retroarch then get the translation patch and...

Maybe the moment ARR relics dropped, because you needed to do HMs including Titan which was notoriously difficult because server ticks were NOT in your favor.

Things I hope for this upgrade/remaster:
- Sidequests from the first part of the game are no longer locked out once you get past THAT moment (or find a way to go back so people who want to 100% before, y’know, can)
- Remove the sidequest involving flower breeding or significantly reduce it
- Include Grimoire Nier
