It has been reported that not only is the redline reduced but the torque output is limited by ECM during the first 500 miles.

Maybe it will have the LT5 for 750hp, with a manual, in a Cadillac sedan. Perfect!

Or the Blackwing is a version on the C8 DOHC mill that has been under development for years. Maybe the Cadillac Blackwing was a trial run of the platform and GM really doesnt care if it goes on elsewhere since the root of the platform will continue in the C8 and who knows what else.

I bought a Buick Encore for my daughter to drive as a first car. It is ideal in that use case - safe, economical, small and easy to drive/park, good visibility, practical enough to serve duty beyond high school, cheap to insure, and reliable. There are at least 4 of them in the high school parking lot so I’m not alone

Says who?

Right, ok, my point is that any of the big 3 truck makers have a shot at cracking the EV truck market. Hummer brand is well positioned and GM seems to be moving relatively quickly. Any of the big 3 could do it, or Toyota, but here GM seems to be in the best position.

But it’s a Toyota truck! They are indestructible and worth their weight in gold! Seller knows what he’s got...

Right, the EV Hummer truck has a chance to break open the EV truck market. Cybertruck? Sorry but it’s a laughable curiosity that will likely never get built in anything close to current form, if ever. I don’t see many F-150 or Silverado buyers switching a a Cybertruck in current form.

Is it a good pickup? NO (bed too small)

This. The amber roof marker lights are part of the Hummer identity, like LED designs on some brands now. Amber roof marker lights can be installed on any vehicle - it does not mean it will be over 80 inches or 10k GVWR.

I already like it more than Cybertruck

And the sound! This is stock in a 2011 C6 Z06. 2011 was the only year Z06 that did not have the extra set of cats (2012+) and used the ZR1 x-pipe. It sounds great. I miss that car!

I don’t think maintenance is too bad, if you can do some work yourself and/or have a good indie shop. The 456 does not require engine out service. Don’t go near a dealer though, which raises another problem.

There is nothing in that top 15 list that I could drive for 20 years without jumping off a bridge from boredom. Maybe the Land Cruiser, but only if it wasn’t my everyday car.

Here’s a spy shot of the steering wheel...

I did, and she didn’t like it. Also tried the E wagon and got the same result. She thinks any wagon is an old persons car and reminds her of what her parents drove, which she does not want. I think that’s a big reason why CUV/SUV, especially the truckier ones like Wrangler, 4runner, Tahoe/Yukon, Range Rover, are

That does seem weird. I am in the midwest, maybe Buicks are more of a thing here. Most Buick dealers ordered one or more TourX, and there are still a few 18s around and a good selection of 19s. As I’ve been eyeing the market, I’ve noticed the loaded units, especially with the pano roof, seem to move before the lower

Yeah, but I think you have to compare pricing with a mid-level CUV rather than an economy hatch. Still, valid point on content and trim levels. In the real world, you can get a fully loaded TourX Essence, with LEDs, leather, adaptive cruise, pano roof, upgraded sound, etc for around $30k brand new. That is a lot of

That’s a good take. I asked my teenage daughter what she thought of the TourX and she said it looks like a regular car that has been squished. She didn’t like it. Interesting how her generation sees a ‘regular car’ now as a SUV/CUV.

They clearly aren’t selling. My local Buick dealer had an 18 TourX on the lot for over a year, used it as a service loaner, and finally blew it out for a song when I convinced my elderly but active parents to buy it.
