I was exaggerating - meaning I don’t think you’d lose $40k. Although $30k is possible. Lookup trade value on a 2007 Turbo with 160k miles - it’s around $20k (if the price guide is to be trusted).

What if this car was driven a lot, like say you put another 80k miles on it in 5 years? What would it be worth with 160k miles?
How much would this car be worth in 5 years with 180k miles? Seriously, if reasonably well maintained, but driven a lot - how much would a very high mileage 911 like this be worth? I’d consider buying a car like this and driving the crap out of it, if I weren’t going to lose $40k in the process. Also maintenance,…
I strip away the old debris that hides a shining car. A brilliant red Barchetta from a better vanished time. I fire up the willing engine, responding with a roar. Tires spitting gravel, I commit my weekly crime....
Good point, and to be fair there were a very small number (less than 10 I think) of Holden Commodore HSV cars that used the LS7. Not sure if those are considered a factory car though. They were also VERY expensive and in Australia only.
The LS7 is incredible, a landmark engine. I’d consider the Z/28 for this engine alone. This is the only application of the LS7 outside of the C6 Z06. I think this Z/28 absolutely will be highly sought after as a collectible car in the future, moreso than the Viper or Hellcats. The Z/28 is the most track focused car…
This is truly bizarre, so much so I may post it on Oppo so it doesn’t get lost here.
Is that you mom?
I agree. I tracked my CTS-V (gen2), and my CTS Vsport. I’m considering the V3, and would track it as well. The thing that is giving me pause is that this is so far beyond my capabilities, even on the track, that I just don’t know if it is worth it.
That looks like an XXL pizza!
What? Wait, why are most of the comments here giving these biker guys a pass? The kids in the car weren’t doing anything at all to them, and an idiot biker decides to smash his window while going down the highway? Who’s to say the driver wouldn’t have thought he was being shot at and swerved into the left lane?…
This makes a case for a FR-S/BRZ, as it has similar characteristics, plus a 3-pedal manual and minus the cachet and Italian-ness, for $30k less.
These taillights are a big improvement. Looks like the same from the Yukon. The current tails are plain non-LED.
If this is the new Denali I like it a lot better than the current Denali super chrome cheese grater look. I actually like the non-Denali grill better with less chrome though,
There is something overlooked here. I had my dealer install the accessory TRD exhaust and TRD intake on my FRS before I took delivery. The first week I had the car it felt quite slow and underpowered. After a week or so, the ECU must have learned what was up because it changed very noticeably. The torque dip was…
That is an incredibly cool story. And picture. I’d love to hear more about how your father came to own that car, how he used it, and then sold it.
Or drive a late model white Dodge Charger with tinted windows. Amazing how oblivious drivers will notice that and move right over.
You forgot an important one, and hopefully the story doesn’t end there...
How about a 4.0 V8 that is essentially two 2 liter F20C 4-cylinder engines in a V? The same engine architecture updated with iVTEC and DI could produce 450HP easy, yes at high revs. It could be stellar.
The dog should be named Rover!
