@gherkinfiend: Ah librarians, they're like the law and order of the book world. You'd think they would at least have let you off since you had proof it was stolen. I'm glad you're at least able to joke wryly about it. I wish I had something more profound to say than that, but everything just sounds trite. I hope it

@rckoala: Hopefully it will. I guess even if you develop type II diabetes, if it's diagnosed before any major damage sets in, and you regulate it properly, you may end up healthier than someone without type II who doesn't look after their diet. That's my optimistic view, even if I am worried about undiagnosed diabetic

@Cairn: Whew, that's a stiff penalty. Since she's been a surrogate a number of times, I expect at the very least she's expecting a massive fine. I wonder if she was aware of that when she undertook to reclaim the babies.

@gherkinfiend: That is possibly the worst and most horrible ironic statement I've heard. That and the being raped by Jesus one. Why are all these rape stories ironic, does the cosmic joker not feel you were hurt enough. I hope that's not too light a response to you, I hope you're ok after that experience.

@euterpe35: I believe that was option B), it was listed after A) "Do you enjoy seeing lurid factual stories reenacted for entertainment value", and before C) "Do you feel validated watching others struggle with their work/life balance while eating Ben & Jerry's in your PJs"

@katie.scarlett.o'hara: In fairness, he's probably hairier now that he's sixteen, so it's still appropriate.

@sportz.star: There are so many details that need to be ironed out though, it's a nightmare in terms of setting precedents. Someone elsewhere in the thread mentioned how giving rights to the genetic parents in a surrogacy case could influence the rights of a couple who undergo in vitro with other people's genetic

@Cairn: Surely that means the surrogate is guilty of a crime too, particularly if she has been a surrogate multiple times? Does she face any punishment?

@rckoala: It's very hard, I find it especially hard given I'm allergic to casein (in milk) and I'm gluten intolerant as well. I bring dinners in with me to college, things like chicken stir fry, morrocan lamb, bean salads, and things like that, so I don't have to resort to the rubbish in college. If I'm still hungry

@rckoala: I used to have constant migraines, temper tantrums, depression, and have intense cravings for sugary food, until I found a book in my house which listed about twenty symptoms on the cover, all of which I had, and had some title like 'it could be caused by sugar'. It explained how insulin works

@dearmelody: Sugar is madly addictive, particularly if you suffer from low blood sugar or are insulin resistant. I know the more sugar I eat, the more I crave, and I have to try and wean myself off it by having lots of substantial meals in order to control my blood sugar levels. I'm very careful now never to snack on

@missheidilynn: Ooh effective brag! I am very jealous. Hope you get nice weather on your big day and your honeymonon.

Well, at least I'll die happy.

Wow, do Victoria's Secret deliver that quickly. It seems like only yesterday their catalogue came out.

@Lymed: I think she's too vehement in her argument to consider that it doesn't come from a very personal place. I don't think she meant it necessarily as a personal attack on skinny women though, but more on voicing things that come into her head when she feels angry and yes, you're right guilt, because of the images.

@Penny: I interpreted it as a way of knocking these women who she's jealous of, who make her feel bad about her body when she sees their pictures. If she can't be as thin as these women, well at least she can imagine she's smarter. To me it shows how threatened she is by 'skinny famous women' that she feels the need

@Lymed: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that Kuffel was a nasty person, but I saw her comments about quizzing these women on facts as a way in which she was trying to make herself feel better. As a way of showing, so what if they're skinny and beautiful, they don't know what I know, I am smarter than them. It showed

@rednrowdy: That's what I meant. The diet industry causes people to focus on their bodies and food in a negative manner, and the subtext is generally about being thin, not healthy. Very few of the fad diets out there could ever be considered healthy. People are being conditioned to question every aspect of their

I appreciate that Kuffel is being honest about her feelings, but her comments about famous, skinny women are really nasty and incredibly judgemental. Lashing out like that really shows how unhappy in herself she is. That for me is the worst aspect of our diet culture, that it pushes an ideal onto people by knocking
