Airedale!
Airedale!
Please no. Don’t let Ripley become a cheap “chosen one” troupe who was destined to fight the aliens and fulfill the legacy / correct the past mistakes of her mother.
Argh. And here I just vowed not to buy the movies (again) until they have a set with director’s cuts and bonus features.
Haven’t watched it for years, honestly, but at the time I really enjoyed... um, Jeffery Jones? Yeah, Jeffery Jones chewing his way through the movie. Still pull out the odd quote even today. “Release the small waterfowl!” “Someone needs some coffee...”
I’m sorry, but that title will probably be taken as a dare by Universal.
That part just enraged me. I was enjoying the movie, warts and all, up until that stormtrooper rally. The Nazi salute was way too over the top. That’s just lazy writing.
Yeah, I mean, I guess I came off being a little holier about it than I really am. It’s a popcorn disaster flick and I usually give those a large amount of suspension of disbelief.
I actually haven’t seen any of the Flash. It’s on my “want to see someday” list, but there are too many good shows out there right now and not enough time.
Not to be that guy but... Wouldn’t an alien ship the size of the Atlantic descending into Earth’s atmosphere royally fuck up the planet? Even parking it in orbit?
It... could be a flashback to Gilead. I hope.
I liked TFA for the most part (except for that Stormtrooper rally. Yes, yes, I get it, they’re Space Nazis, stop hitting me over the head please) but I really wish they’d dropped a few more hints about what’s going on in the galaxy.
Can I just curse Marvel here? Not only do they have an omnibus edition of the Abnett run of Guardians, not only do they have the omnibus edition of the War of Kings, but they have the omnibus edition of the Bendis run of Guardians... All this the same year Dark Horse is starting their Moebius omnibus collection.
And here I thought this election couldn’t get any weirder. Silly me. Silly, silly me.
It’s not a review exactly, but her synopsis of 1989's Batman based exclusively on Prince’s soundtrack was nothing short of brilliant.
It’s basically what Universal is trying to do now in 2016
As I understand it, unless you’re top-tier, traditional authors are shouldering an increasing amount of the marketing and editing themselves. And there’s no reason a self-published author couldn’t hire an editor, cover artist and outside marketer themselves. (Whether they do or not is, of course, another story.)
Is this new though? Lucas had mentioned R2D2 and C3PO were the two constants across the entire multi-generational saga. They were, maybe not the narrators per se, but a sort of framing technique? Another theory I’ve heard is that C3PO’s state in Ep I matched the saga itself. He was created by Anakin, and the story…
The (Dark Phoenix) storyline was previously touched on in X3
I can’t decide if I like the kaleidoscope style effects, or if I’m disappointed they didn’t go full-blown Ditko weirdness. I mean, I’m still going to watch it. That’s a given.
I admit I haven’t seen the film yet, but... Really? That seriously happened to Jimmy Olsen?
