Have to agree this is a no-effort click bait article that I’m surprised Kotaku has published. It’s called the “definitive” list, but the author has no explanation and admits that personal preference was a factor (in their design and the memes and jokes surrounding the characters).

So the criteria is, just, like, “whatever” then?
