Spot on. Canada looked good. The US was played off the field. It was a deserved win in a packed soccer-specific stadium full of happy home fans. Kinda envious, actually.

I have never been a D1 college athlete so I can’t speak to that system but I think it’s hard to say the US is somehow ‘behind’ in soccer. Their tactics this cup were incredibly sophisticated, they had some of the absolute best players anywhere on the field, and they went toe-to-toe with all the European giants except…

Came here for this.  I was reading this and wondering if the author was an Aussie.  I would say Norway were more composed and dangerous throughout.  Hit the woodwork how many times?  That said both teams were awesome.

I agree with the premise of the article. I’ve been a Green Bay fan for years and I’m not worried about Rodgers; I do think his ‘decline’, as it were, may be real, in that he can no longer single-handedly haul the team up. But he’s still got years of excellent quarterbacking to go.

France deserved it, but Croatia were superb throughout and really went after the game.

I was worried until he said that Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith were the strongest entries. Ensures I will like said movie. SMFH.
