As a reader of the NYT, I was disappointed with the article about Biden and his fancy watch. Talk about a slow news day. This kind of ‘reporting’ is beneath the Times and I was taken aback to see it. Just shows us all that the departure of Trump has left a gapping news hole that was previously filled with breathless

They know that Biden hasn’t been “working class”  for the vast majority of his adult life, right? Neither has Bernie, for that matter. You can’t have an honest discussion of class in america if you don’t fucking understand what constitutes a given class in the first place.

I think that writer’s interpretation of the working class lifestyle says more about them than it does Biden.

Is it classist the NYTs authors believe working everyman can’t afford to spend a few thousand on recreational equipment or get a nice watch if they want? Who are those Peleton commercials aimed at, if not the masses? Next up, Hunter splurges on fancy socialist bagels.

The media could start “bridging the divide” by refuting the divulging political opinions” not based on facts or grounded in reality. How about we start by insisting on unity with reality? There are no both sides to Qanon because Qanon doesn’t exist. There are no both sides to election fraud because President Biden

I’ll watch the hell out of Harris’s inauguration, when the time comes.

And don’t forget the visible waves of contempt and hate that wafted off of her. I wish I could remember which Jezebel poster said this, so I could give proper attribution, but “dead-eyed church bitch” is the best description of Huckabee ever.

I thought he was a deeply deeply stupid and incompetent man. I tried to tell myself that when it comes down to it, the president doesn’t have all the power - he really relies on his cabinet - so maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. What I did not anticipate is how truly incompetent everyone in his cabinet was going to be.

I admit part of me was watching going “nobody do anything stupid, nobody do anything stupid...” and nobody did. My main sensation these days is relief. The kind of springy, loose-limbed relief you get when you’re finally over the flu or just escaped a car wreck.

I’ll take someone saying “no comment at this time” over the blatant, easily disproven lies that we got for the past 4 years.

All politicians spin. It’s required by the job. You can’t get anywhere in politics by telling the unvarnished truth.

I mean, I always knew it would be bad in all the ways that any Republican president would be bad. But I’m talking about beyond the white Christian grievance politics, something Republicans have been playing in longer than I have been alive.

Maybe it’s being born and raised in the Deep South and then living in a non-progressive part of Texas, but I guess I always figured it was going to be as bad as it wound up being.

Can we make it a not so nice hoity toity prison? I’m thinking Rikers

But these moments weren’t actually entertaining; they were outlandish and terrifying.

Im fine with spin as long as it’s directed to journalists that are clearly just pushing for a zesty headline. News is about to get really boring, and I fucking love it.

Yes, and we need to chase this MF and his family to prison. I don’t want to re-live the same in 2024.

Just do what I’m doing and repeat to yourself: President Biden. President Biden. President Biden.

She was so smug in her dishonesty. Her whole attitude was “I don’t care that you know I’m lying. I’m much too smart for you to unravel my carefully constructed web of bullshit.”

My brain cannot process normalcy in the US government any more. It just feel completely foreign now. Like I’m in some kind of dream.
