Just a few bad apples.
Just a few bad apples.
Anti-abortion people are on the front lines of protesting the death penalty, no?
Kettling is straight up arrest for peacable assembly. Tell me the ACLU is on this...?
The big problem is the folks required to clean the mess up. Not to mention the involuntary twitching of the body afterwards.
We, as a People, are sick. Far more sick than this man’s ailing body.
Give me 5 xanax, a plastic bag, and some nitrous oxide.
No guillotine. Giant cement block. The head explodes and there’s no pain or moments of awareness after the execution starts. Just splat and darkness. It would be horrible to watch and totally painless.
Jesus. Either get rid of the death penalty, or embrace the reality of state sanctioned killing and put them on their knees before shooting them in the back of the head. None of this “putting to sleep” shit. I’d take a bullet in the brain stem over a halfassed lethal injection all day long.
Or grant his petition for a firing squad. I don’t get how that was denied. The goal is simple: kill him. No easier way to kill people than with a gun (as this country shows, mass shooting after mass shooting).
Religious people are ok with this, but they don’t want same sex couples to get married. This country is beyond stupid.
They denied his petition for a firing squad when they knew lethal injection had a high possibility of failing. What is the logic in that when the ultimate goal is to kill him? There’s probably some lunatic waiting to commit mass murder that would love to test out his arsenal on a death row inmate.
In a building full of murderers these fuck-ups can’t kill a guy strapped down. I’d rather that POS spend the rest of his life in a cage instead of being state killed. But if you want to kill the guy mix up 10 grams of Fentanyl or Oxy and inject. Instant stopped heart.
My issue isn’t with the veinfinder, that’s fine. It’s the repeated poking and sticking him with the needle, while comforting and patting him saying it’s okay. Yikes good god that’s awful. After all, you are trying to kill him.
If you’re going to execute someone, then there shouldn’t be all this sanitized procedure for everyone involved. You’re killing a person, and that is awful. It should be simple, effective and painless and it should remind those of us who look on at the true horror of what we’re doing. The French had it right long ago,…
The execution team worked for about 25 minutes to find a vein in Campbell’s arms or his right lower leg as he lay on a gurney in the death chamber. Team members used a locating device with an ultraviolet light while comforting Campbell by patting him on the arm and shoulder.
The amount of effort, as a society, that we are willing to put in for the payoff of a bit of pointless vengeance is sickening.
Consult the police department... they have become quite adept at knocking people off.
“We’re not going to rush to execute. We’re just taking our time, and I think that’s fine”
Barbaric.
“Obviously, we’re going to reschedule this execution for-“ looks at Campbell “—a year and a half from now. We’re not going to hope this problem just goes away on its own.”
