I'm scarred by shitty 3rd party controllers in older generations. Can anyone that shares my dislike for the Sony controller personally recommend PS3 alternatives?

Well admittedly the number one reason I will end up buying a next-gen is for FIFA, so for me personally the biggest differentiation that can be offered is the controller. But price, used games, DRM, all in favor of PS3, obviously.

It took me a while to get used to the different "X" buttons, but that's not my issue, I just hate the shape of the handles and the location of the left analog stick on Playstation. To me, it's a no brainer that the primary method of control should be where the Xbox has analog and the PS has its d-pad.

I could not agree more. The controller is the only reason that I am still torn on which console to invest in.

It's too bad that Nintendo made SSB Melee, the Gamecube version. It really is.

Don't care. Still buying it because I need to play FIFA and because PS1/2/3/4's controller is an affront to ergonomics because they are too stupid to know where to put the analog stick (which, in 2013, happens to be the primary means of control).

I'm still waiting for a worthy follow up to Super Smash Bros Melee, be it from Nintendo or anyone. It was the only good game in the series, and in my opinion the only fighting game ever worthy of actual tournament competition.

Too bad Sony refuses to give me a reasonable alternative.

The left analog stick (the main method of control in the year 2013) is still in a position that could be described, kindly, as an ergonomic disaster. Maybe because it's based on a design for PS1 that had to add analog control in after the fact.
