Microsoft most definitely used the term "video game console" for the original Xbox:

Yes, people do always complain. I've been watching these going back to the Saturn (they didn't really have "reveals" before that) - there are always people who bitch and moan.

That was when I burst out laughing too.

Maybe in Japan they'll call it the "Xbox Zero".

There *are* ways to mitigate traffic - in fact, while I've had a lot of the other problems people talk about, I've only occasionally had traffic issues and usually it's been because of some boneheaded thing I've done or just some random little road laying issue that was easily fixed.

Just watch the original series. It's a lot better.

I don't see the problem.

I've been wondering that myself. All I can think are two possibilities:

They can't put it on the internet if it isn't true.

Well, in real cities (you know, like SimCity is supposed to be simming), subways actually *alleviate* traffic.

It's because retailers make $7 on Nintendo consoles, and Nintendo does not accept returns from dealers for any reason. That makes Nintendo systems money-losers, and Amazon refuses to accept that. Other retailers accept it because the games make money, and you can't sell games without systems.

Everyone but EA is calling this one SimCity 5, so hopefully they'll go with 6 for the next one.

But in what way does this make the game better? It's basically a way to cheat by installing ads in your game.

My favorite part of that has always been how practiced the guy sounds saying "World of World of Warcraft". I can't even say it; he legitimately sounds like it's something he's been talking about for years.

Same experience here. All the games are full, abandoned cities cannot be reclaimed, and when I start my own public region, nobody joins.

That's the thing - the game actually plays pretty much exactly the same as a single player game. You can start a bunch of cities and just switch back and forth one at a time, and you'll have the same experience as playing multiplayer.

Don't like his comment? Then don't read it.

It's fun enough that I've apparently played it 32 hours so far. But I get tired of it a lot more quickly than past SC games. I'd stay up literally all night playing SC4 - with the new SC, I play for a couple hours and then just stop.

I like the new homepage view (thank GOD you returned to something resembling a blog view) but I just cannot figure out this new commenting system. Like, at all. I don't know who is replying to who, how to read replies to comments, how to reply to comments, etc. I feel like I'm reading a foreign language. I am not

Well I'll try that and see what happens. The weird thing is that I've found mostly residential cities (which is what my first city was) are less profitable than cities based entirely on mining and trade, so I'll experiment with this but 10k/hr. sounds low to me. Though I've also noticed that that money meter is
