It still amazes me that people who talk about Amazon for a living still don't understand what they're doing. A *huge* chunk of Amazon's spending is in marketing and R&D. They could shut that off (or scale it way back) tomorrow and make literally billions of dollars in profit per quarter overnight.

What's the problem with "Nexus 4"?

Blergh. If these specs are correct, then I can almost guarantee I won't be buying this phone. 8GB, seriously? With no SD slot? What year is this?

It's not even close to the comparison between iOS 5 and iOS 6. I have devices with both ICS and JB on them and honestly, I can barely tell the difference. I mean part of the problem is this code name thing - let's call them by their actual designations, Android 4.0.4 and Android 4.1. That makes it a little clearer

It's the same as asking "what makes a Windows 8 tablet a Surface?" The fact that it's released by MS to their specs, that's all. It's the reference design in both hardware and software. Google has always had devices considered the reference design in every generation and both phones and tablets (these are called

Again, it doesn't seem like you understand the difference between RT and Pro. Windows RT does not run Windows software as you know it. It only runs Metro software. None of the apps you currently have will work on RT.

I've used the "it's so cute!" line about the iPhone... that's my favorite one in this video. Such a perfect back-handed compliment, without being overtly sarcastic like most of this.

You can wash your hands all you want, it doesn't stop the fine mist of shit particles flying all over the bathroom when you flush the toilet.

Nope, I totally believe it, don't care about the small sample size. Because it agrees with every other study I've ever seen done on things people touch a lot, including computer keyboards, your toothbrush, etc.

Apple is the company that transformed retina from a made-up buzzword to an industry standard. It's the company that knew what people wanted before they had any idea themselves.

The Verge had many of the same criticisms: http://www.theverge.com/2012/10/23/3540550/microsoft-surface-review

Have you never read a Gizmodo review before? Did you not notice the "like" and "no like" headers (which appear in every Giz review)?

It's Windows RT, not Windows. I'm not sure you understand the difference despite the many points made about it in the review. It's like comparing Windows CE to Windows XP.

If you want a laptop, use it like a laptop.

The problem is the USB drive still sticks out the bottom of the tablet. I don't understand what the big aversion Google and other manufacturers have to SD slots is... unless it's so they can jack up the prices on higher-spec versions of the tablet. I know Google's *stated* reasoning, that it somehow makes things

As a current N7 owner, I've all but resolved to get *something* new, but I'm waiting for Google's announcements now. I currently have both the N7 and a 10"(ish) Xoom, and I would like to replace both of them with one tablet that has all the features of both. I'd hoped the iPad mini would bridge the gap. (I'd

How do apps like Google Maps or YouTube look on iPad these days?

More to the point, why not compare Android tablet apps, rather than phone apps? The Tripadvisor app they showed for iPad most certainly exists in exactly that form for Android tablets, as I have it on my Nexus 7.

So, is it really the case that you cannot order a 13" MBP with both a high-res screen and an optical drive? You need to choose one or the other?
