Fantastic piece. I would add “Siberiade,” an incredible epic that unfolds over the first eight decades of the 20th century in a small Siberian village, which manages to be both formally inventive and (especially in its final segment) profoundly moving.

At today’s exchange rates, it’s about $40,600. The £ is weaker than what it once was, but has strengthened a bit since the autumn. 

Do not slander Taylor Lorenz, the main character of the New York Times!

This is why I like New York. Restaurants that cost $5 or $250, you can dress casually and people don’t really care. As long as you have the cash, you can eat.
