This -> “His violence was something that made me better.” is seriously messed up. There is no excuse for this.

‘He hits me because he cares about me and wants to make me better. He’ll stop hitting me when I stop being so terrible.’

You can push someone to do their best without throwing a damn chair at them. The fool easily could have killed you with that behavior. He sounds like an abuser and I hope you know that you deserve to be treated better.

You have to be able to see the problem with “his dangerous physical abuse made me better”, though, right?

This sort of excuse-making is part of what’s wrong with our community. If someone has to throw chairs at people to do their job, fuck them. We deserve better.

I LOVE Nicki Minaj more and more every day. I don’t always agree with her, but I love how she is so unapolegetic. And I agree with her on this one, she is successful and he needs to let go of her coattails.

This. My mom also gave me the “creepy adult men may try to take advantage of your inexperience for the next year or two” lecture to me when I hit puberty. I’m paraphrasing badly but basically she warned me about a specific subset of guys who prey on young teen girls.

You are never alone. A lot of us have experienced sexual abuse, including me. Hugs and love to you.

Me too. I was “involved” with the Assistant Dean of Admissions at my boarding school in Southern California. This was in 1988 and it went on for five months (Christmas break until graduation). I was 17 and he was 27. I turned 18 the day I graduated. He gave me HPV.

“...allegations, going back decades, include claims of rape, fondling, molestation, and oral sex by trusted adults in positions of authority, including, in one case, an admissions officer.”

You must emanate a strong sympathy that so many students felt they could confide in you. Not necessarily an easy position, though.....

To be clear, I have nothing against trucks or those who make tacos in them.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Not sure what compelled me to write that post. Broke down and overshared!

Sounds eerily familiar.....

Maybe they expected a change of scenery would make a predator not be a predator.

There are times I wish I could still report my experience from years ago, but I couldn’t handle the disbelief and victim blaming. I can only ever speak of it anonymously. My SOs certainly can never know.

“Over the last 10 or 15 years, there’s been a growing openness to acknowledge and investigate past abuse in all kinds of youth-serving institutions,” he writes. “That’s a healthy development, even if it means that today’s school leaders must grapple with abuse cases—and organizational missteps—from the past, when

Wrestling has a unique, shitty way of leaving the people who enter the business worse off than if they’d never stepped foot inside a ring.

Chyna always seemed like someone who got chewed up by the system and then was left to deal with the aftermath on her own. If her time in the business had come a little earlier or a bit later, she probably would have gone down as one of the legends of pro wrestling, but she hit at probably the worst possible moment,

  • Anna Faris and Chris Pratt are...having issues. And they may involve...Jennifer Lawrence.
