I don’t understand how this was ever considered a possibility. Being a global pandemic, there were already places on the planet with summer weather having no noticeable impact on the spread of the virus before it was summer in the U.S.
At the beginning on forums where right wingers kept parroting that it would die with spring/summer, I had to reply with weather reports in Iran which was one of the hotspots at the time.
The disease is being pretty predictable. Other countries have taken predictable actions and gotten predictable results.
These people are that one asshole in every zombie movie who doesn’t tell anyone they’ve been bitten.
Even if the survival rate is 99.6%, that only sounds great until you or someone you love ends up in the 0.4%, as nearly 140,000 Americans have so far.
The next zombie movie/tv show needs to include people with signs that say things like “I can bite who I want” “staying inside is oppression” etc. to show how the virus spread so easily.

I suggest that anyone seeking admittance to a hospital, after intentionally attending any gathering unmasked and without distancing, be asked to “Please wait in the morgue. Someone will be with you eventually”
I think it would be nice if we could get a list of everybody involved, and when they show up at the hospital with symptoms, tell them, “sorry, you’re responsible for your own medical decisions.
