Not necessarily. Most modern TC’s never shut off completely, and they almost all do some version of torque vectoring to prevent an open diff from freewheeling. Also, more wheel speed is USUALLY preferable on dirt because the tire deforms the surface.  I don’t think it’s a slam dunk it will be better, but it would

I’m disappointed they didn’t try with traction control off.

Where they belong.

to defective right-rear axle half shafts that could brake under load

I don’t interact with dealers if I don’t have to, so maybe I just look like an easy mark... Nearly every interaction with dealer sales or service has required me to go over everything with a fine tooth comb to find mistakes. From pinstriping on my new car to the aforementioned $150 dollar bottle of $8 gear lube.  The

This thread is getting complicated, lol.

The problem is when dealers try to hide costs so you are tricked into paying them. That’s the real problem. If they are upfront about everything, I don’t think it would be a problem. Trying to charge me $150 for an $8 bottle of gear lube by hiding it in a bill is pretty shitty.

Imagine going to the grocery store to

You are correct that it’s not illegal what they are doing and “buyer beware” and all of that. But it’s just frustrating that every time you deal with them you have to be extra on your toes to make sure you don’t get charged $150 for a quart of $8 gear oil. And it’s NEVER easy to spot the errors as the bills are not

Trains are efficient due to low rolling resistance and wind resistance (like having a bunch of semis tailgate each other). Series hybrids are actually less efficient than an ICE by itself. Fuel energy -> Torque in the ICE -> Turn a generator -> send power to the electric motors -> torque at the wheels. If you could

The odds of dying by the hands of a Takata airbag are pretty slim too.  The odd’s are 1 in 3.35 million.  The rough equivalent of buying 90 powerball tickets.

I would enter it into the 24 hours of le-NOPE!

Didn’t you know scratched paint is just as severe as an airliner plummeting into the ocean?  Shame.

Pilots will not know exact take off performance until it is calculated just before departure as the air density changes regularly.  However, 25 people seems like a lot to me (sim pilot enthusiast). I mean, that’s in the vicinity of 5,000lb, which sure seems like a big error even accounting for atmospheric changes.

Now playing

If you listen closely to the communication of the fighter jet pilots, you can hear them kind of chuckle about his roll.

The necessity of it, yea, it’s debatable.

However, if you’re bad at rev matching, it wears the clutch. It does increase engine wear, but by an amount so small, it doesn’t matter.

Because it doesn’t hurt it.  My car cruises at 4k RPM on the freeway in 5th.  Don’t exceed redline and it’s fine.

120 months of payments!

Taller roll bar?

I’m kind of torn.  I want certain people to know, but I’m starting to get worried about the future of racing with ICE engines.  Political pressure and busy bodies are likely to come for ICE racing before too long.  EPA is already kind of cracking down with the whole “normal cars can’t be turned into race cars” BS.
