Some truth to that, but it’s more likely they could meet the regulations, but just don’t want to pay for it.

“That could have been worse”

Get a nexus pass.  None of that BS anymore. The only thing you have to remove is your laptop, which is no biggie.  But you don’t have to take your shoes off.  It’s so much better.

The website meatspin has forever ruined that song for me.

Also, the higher you are, the less you care about bad roads.

Time for a dedicated off road rig!

I’m really curious to hear his motivations. Is he trying to protest something, or is he just a turd bag?

I’ll pile on to some of the other comments, don’t get something newer. Keep the accord until it needs a really expensive repair, then sell it as a “mechanics special” If your car lasts another year, you could easily have $12,000 for another car. $12,000 buys a LOT of car in the used market.

I make over 6 figures, but

A low credit score doesn’t necessarily mean debt.  It means you couldn’t handle the debt you did have, but could be out of it by now.  I had a charge-off when I was a kid and took 7 long years for it to drop off, even though I had no new debt.

The driver was probably distracted by some moose tracks.

It was meant as a figure of speech, but, yes, they can. I know a couple plumbers who started in the same boat, minimum wage and took night classes to work as plumbers apprentices, eventually became licensed and now have very successful businesses. I myself started from a low income family, took a bunch of student

That’s a bit hyperbolic to imply I’m not concerned for people. I’m not concerned for people who complain that Uber isn’t working out for them, full stop.

Not in the case of Uber, that’s the point. It’s not a real 9-5 job, and was never meant to be. It explains that when you sign up. You are not an employee, you are an independent contractor, therefore you are not entitled to the same employment protections.  They didn’t hide this fact, it was plain as daylight when I

It’s not feasible because it isn’t required in the case of Uber. Unions shouldn’t be used to get ahead in life, they should be used to make sure a bare minimum is met, ie making sure working conditions are decent and not life threatening. Besides, there are plenty of other jobs out there with unions, but they require

It is not a sad sign... Jesus you’re depressing. Plenty of other real jobs out there that get the protection you whiners want. Bunch of babies around here, I swear. “Oh, I took an action and it didn’t work out like I want, but it’s not my fault, waaah. I’m going to blame the big bad corporation for my problem instead

Getting a real job would be protecting themselves. Not taking a lousy gig job then crying when it doesn’t work out. Put on your adult pants and go do something else.

It’s loser attitudes like yours that get people stuck and feel they have no options. Also, shouldn’t take a genius to figure out that most people will not start an Uber, but it’s a figure of speech.
