It’s possible that the impact was not that sizeable. There looked to be little impact damage to the car, so it might been just a slow pit maneuver that didn’t have much impact.

Woah woah woah. I do not believe you spent enough time on that Escort. It was not simply a 90-something HP 1.9L SEFI motor found in the vast majority of Escorts, this was the rarer GT model! You point out that it is a GT, but fail to really hone in on the significance. This is a 1.8L Mazda BP engine with over 120 hp

He was probably looking to catch Rusty playing his trombone.

Again, not directly, but higher stock price will attract other investment, or Tesla could issue new stock. Or hell, Elan could be looking to dump his stock at the highest price possible.  It’s all a guess, of course, but I agree with Mr. Ballaban, the whole thing is weird as hell.

Not directly, I know, but it’s largely an emotional game, and if some people think they can get a quick return... buy it at $3xx, and sell it for $420...

I agree with you, but so far, there isn’t much evidence that that ISN’T what’s happening.  There are already lawsuits from shareholders, the board had no idea whats going on, it’s not clear there is a buyer... Even if it was a flippant tweet, sure seems like it would not be much of a stretch to assume he was trying to

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It’s only illegal if you get caught, right?

The whole taking Tesla private thing is a ploy to raise the stock price to raise more money for Tesla because they are almost out of it. That’s my guess.

Loving this reference makes us old...

$15/month is 1% territory?

This sounds fantastic... except for the $15/month. I’m not sure it’s worth itskipping the part before the ID check. In my experience, the hold up is AFTER the ID check point. Guess it depends on when you travel.

I just like paying for the shorter security lines, while the plebes have to take their shoes off.

The dealer should have clammed up and gotten the paper work all situated and then when intent to buy with a bad engine was proven, could have made a real case out of it...

It’s so common, there are actual business dedicated to purchasing and reverse engineering a car.

I wheely like them.

Dude, I hope they Come Together and restore this thing from its Seasons of Winter, and it gets Back in the Saddle Again.

Well, it was trumped by a wave. Chance in a million.

Ok, I work with an FCG who did a rotation at Dearborn and owns a Fiesta ST.

Ryan?
