It’s hard to get worked up about these issues when it’s possible to have a “cheat” device just because someone forgot to put a checkbox on some form somewhere.

CO detectors are super cheap. Doesn’t fix the problem at hand, but it’s great insurance to keep your family safe.
It’s like a big zit.
That’s why the dyno software either needs a tach input to measure engine speed, or the gear ratios need to be input to the software.
I get tired of arguing this because no one knows my credentials... but you cannot measure horsepower directly. A dyno’s only job is to measure torque. Knowing the speed and the torque allows you to calculate power.
HP shouldn’t change much if it’s JUST a tire diameter change. Wheel torque will absolutely change, but if the speed ratio between the wheel and engine are correct, engine torque should be calculated correctly.
UAW negotiates so that if they are laid off due to plant shutdowns, they still get a percentage of their pay.
How does it suck for the line workers? Getting paid to sit at home? Even if it is just a percentage, it’s still money for nothing.
I like driving barefoot when it’s convenient.

It’s what happens when you are on the road 4 hours a day commuting.
Rust doesn’t float...
I live in Metro Detroit and we don’t have any real public transportation. Sure we have bus’s but they are terribly impractical. I would love to commute by train or subway, but since I’m an engineer in the auto industry, I probably will never get that chance. (I did once when I was visiting a few suppliers in Japan,…
That happened when we bought our house. As part of the home inspection we tested the water out of a couple fixtures and sent it out to be analyzed. When it returned, it came back with high arsenic, so we got a buyer concession of $400 to install an RO system under the sink.
it’s funny for me to hear that. NOT having a car seems completely unfathomable to me. I mean, no matter how poor we were when I was young, no matter how hungry we were or how many utilities were shut off, we always had a car. Having a car to me is as natural as breathing.
Maybe. According to my realtor a good well vs. a bad well doesn’t really change the value of the house at all. So putting in a brand new softener or RO system doesn’t register too much. Being on a municipal supply is a significant increase in value, though. While I am not personally an expert, I still find the idea of…
The health department recommends periodic testing for a reason. That’s because ground water can change over time. I have no doubt GM is responsible for the salt, but I have a hard time believing they had any effect on the arsenic, since it’s so prevalent in the area already.
It’s funny how a misfire can sound so good, lol.
Agreed. it’s silly.
I’ll bet dollars to doughnuts that this is has no affect on property values. City water vs well water has a huge impact, but good well vs lousy well, meh.
