A bunch of supervised field trips to various museums and nature trails with a bunch of clingy moms around isn’t remotely the same in terms of developing social skills as actually being largely on your own with your peers every day and having to learn to form and maintain social relationships. Which is why so many

People “need” to learn about science so that they don’t turn into anti-vax morons

I’m not going to shit on your opinion, but it’s important to expose every kid to those concepts (just like musical arts/literature/history etc.) regardless of perceived use.

Counterpoint: I have never met a homeschooled kid that wasn’t weird or socially awkward. Taking them out for play encounters and day trip excursions isn’t the same as learning how to interact with their peers on a daily basis. Learning how to be functional in society is almost more valuable than the actual knowledge

Seems to me like kids still need to learn math, grammar, literature, history, biology, physics, etc. From people that know about that stuff.

Dude, depending on the guest list (you know like that side of the family) a complicated stuck in the kitchen all day menu is the only thing keeping me out of jail

“Noor is completely innocent and [was] unaware of the attacks,”

If she knew what he was planning, she’s complicit. I have a learning disability. I didn’t know it absolved me of accessory to murder.

Oh, word: The practice isn’t a 401c3 non profit, as this interview here explains, so the only way to donate is to make out a check directly to the office or to him (Warren M. Hern) and send it in the mail to

Good news! The parts of Alexander Hamilton’s life that involved radical Islam and FBI surveillance have been cut from the play as well.

Which at EVERY SINGLE spin class I’ve been to has been made clear - if your hips or knees are wobbling, you are peddling too fast with too low of a resistance level. Real cyclists would not make this mistake because what’s the point but spin classes also make this apparent for noobs.

In cycling it is super normal to use clipless pedals, which is a specialized* pedal that you can snap a pair of cycling shoes into (there is some hardware involved). They are actually REALLY helpful, but every set I’ve used has also been REALLY easy to bail out of. You just flick your foot out at the ankle and you’re

This is standard practice. Most decent cyclists have cycling shoes that lock into bike pedals both in gyms and on their normal bikes. If someone doesn’t have cycling shoes, then gyms provide attachments that let you lock your sneakers onto the bike, but it’s a much worse cycling experience. “Lock” is a misleading word

Press the brake to slow the flywheel and clip out by flicking your ankle outward.

full disclosure: I love SoulCycle.

It’s like he’s a bad person and his eyes are trying to get away.

FitBit Charge HR because it is easy to use, does everything you need, synchs with other apps and phones. Have had it over a year without complaints, snafus or glitches. What is UP with that...oh, you didn’t ask for my LEAST favorite tracker? Sorry! Bought mine at Target.

I can just imagine trying this at work. A chatty cathy coworker comes to my desk as I’m having a conversation with coworker Ted and tries to interrupt.
“Excuse me, Ted...”
*turns, gently places hand over rude coworkers mouth*
“Linda, I am acknowledging that you’d like my attention but right now you need to shut the fuck

It’s the butter on that bread that kills me. Every time.
