I liked the Swedish film, but don’t understand the weird fascination with this one particular property. In addition to the limp American retread, its been adapted to the stage, turned into a comic book, and this will be the 3rd attempt to make it a tv series (A&E took a stab at it before TNTs failed effort).

The closest thing to being iconographic in the Snyder-verse I can think of is The Flash preparing to “sneak” attack Superman, Ezra Miller’s googly eyes as he realizes Superman is watching him is fantastic.

I’m very much in the anti-reboot camp.

THATS your pick for the one funny line?!

I thought the world building of the book was pretty interesting, and it did a good job of creating stakes/conflict of the story to be invested in. But it got drug down quite a bit for me by needing to hang its plot on the dumb concept of some social contract about mortal combat when the main character turns 16, so in

An entire successful career where he basically kept the haircut and glasses from his time in the Marines. He’s more than earned a little scruffiness.

Dolemite shows he’s still a wonderfully entertaining actor, but when I see or listen to him in interviews, he doesn’t really strike me as being all that...funny. Though to be fair I can’t say I remember being a fan what I’ve seen of his standup, which seems mostly like its him doing funny voices.

I like that one of the pieces of equipment in the science lab analyzing her strength is a literal carnival game just plopped into the lab setting. Like the screenwriters were challenging each other “how lazy can we get with this montage?”

Scorched Earth. He wants Johns and Hamada to never work again. I find it kind of amusing how sloppy this is though, “I heard from a guy who relayed to me a conversation HE heard about some executives where they said this thing, and the conversation was basically this line about angry black guys, and I think the person

I can definitely see execs using that phrase too, but to me I’d imagine it more coming across as “can we let our main black character be this this oft criticized token stereotype of the angry black male?”

With the terribly half-baked return of Kahn, and the completely deus ex machina return of the Emperor, what’s the over/under on how lazy an approach Abrams takes to bringing Zod into the story?

Its kind of always been the WB approach to just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. Pre-Nolan they had Superman Lives (Burton), Superman v Batman (Wolfgang Peterson), Batman: Year One (Aronofksy), Justice League (Miller), a DIFFERENT Abrams Superman project (directed by Ratner!), Superman Returns.... all in

I’ll just bring up, because I feel like I see so little discussion of it, especially given the kind of resurgence of Groundhog Day/time-loop style stories, Topher Grace is in one of the better Twilight Zone episodes (ironic to be the highlight of an otherwise dull anthology series, while being the low watermark on the

1) variations of the storyline have been done almost (?) to death

Repost when someone remixes the trailer with the MK soundtrack complete with the proper name introductions.

Have youjust identified the blurry faced quintuplet?!

Glad to hear that it won’t interfere with future Atlanta seasons...but wonder if it will leave room for that rumored Lando series?

Princess Carolyn’s breakup with Ralph in Bojack always broke my heart, though her break up with the show’s only mature character, Vincent Adultman, was pretty rough too.

Noticed the same thing for a few other movies (Demolition Man, Silverado...); I wonder how much of a benefit getting these quick windows of playtime is to them?

Well I will say on the optimistic side I’m impressed by how much of that does look to be pretty fresh footage, though then to get quickly cynical that’s a trailer, not sure how much of that “freshness” will play out in the actual 4-HOUR movie (especially if a big chunk of that takes place over what is basically a
