Grant definitely DID hate kids, he tried to get that one to piss himself in the first 5 minutes of the movie, and when Ellie calls him on it he has this whole little rant about why he doesn’t like kids (they’re noisy they’re annoying they smell ...).

I actually really like the idea of setting a tv series with the movie as a backdrop, but yeah, the camp premise is bone headed. It seems like a needless stretch as well. Just make it as a week long school or summer field trip or something along those lines and eliminate the need write yourselves out of a weird corner.

Why does it feel like the article is making fun of Shrekfest? What? Would you rather it was a Pixar’s Coco-fest? You have SEEN Shrek haven’t you? Myers, Murphy, Diaz, Lithgow; a murderers row of voice talent. Can you say the same for Coco? I doubt it.

The heads up game is a filter on instagram, its usually a thing like “what Harry Potter character are you?” or something of that sort. The filter will place a virtual bubble or card over your head and do a slot machine kind of thing before popping up with a random character for you.

Chris Evans doesn’t need to be comforted over his dick pic. The rest of the male population needs to be comforted over his dick pic; because of course he’d have a perfect dick. Isn’t it enough that he gets to be tall gorgeous charming and successful, he gets that too?!?!

I’m usually pretty adverse to mystery box style of storytelling, but I don’t feel like that’s what this show is doing. It has some mysteries definitely, but at this point they feel more like part of the tapestry than a defining element of the show. Mystery box/random weirdness/etc puts me off when that’s the hook,

McG: I have a director’s cut

I feel like, of all the things to come out of this book, Kushner not understanding Alice in Wonderland is kind of a weird bit to focus on, both for Woodward and this article.

A lot of the real life stories of this kind of thing happening involve teachers who are married and have families, so guessing the series is just kind of opening its narrative to try and take a wider view of the consequences of this kind of thing.

Not sure where this rates it on the disingenuous-scale; posting a clickbait article about Star Wars and then “complaining” (i.e. goading for even more clicks!) about all the people you’re hoping fall for the clickbait.

The show refers to them as humans, just the writer here making the needless distinction (unless, of course like the OP notes, he knows something we don’t).

I don’t disagree, which is why its frustrating that he’s developed this affinity for shepherding the writing of his movies this late in his career. His best movies are just taking a solid script and directing it into a gorgeous movie. But then you get stuff like Robin Hood, Exodus, the Alien prequels, where he has

That the prequels turned the aquiline and mysterious Alien into something talky and mythic, more akin to Star Trek than The Texas Chain-Saw Massacre, miffed many long-time fans, and I sympathize.”

Deep fakes started as something interesting, and then became really really boring as a surfeit of videos flooded social media of “deep fake random celebrity onto other random celebrities/sitcom cast/whatever.” Even when it SHOULD be interesting (like deepfaking young Harrison Ford into the Solo movie), doing just the

When I was growing up gender reveals didn’t involve explosions, just a trench coat and a bus stop.

Who’s the yellow turtle with the Wolverine claws?

I think, in the interest of the Jacks being action character reboots, Jack Bauer has to be next in line.

I can easily believe that Whedon is a douchebag”

I don’t think the screenshot of an e-mail basically saying he hung up on the investigator without discussing any details is quite the proof of willing cooperation that he thinks it is.

Two guesses, with Falk no longer being with us, they decided to eliminate the framing device all together.
