Maybe there is a story or stories that I missed, but Armisen has never been accused or suggested of sexual harassment/assault has he? I thought all the stuff that swirls around about him were more that he wasshitty to women he dated (cheats on them, dumps them when he gets bored, pretends to be someone he’s not...) -

Well to be clear on a couple of points, Incredibles 2 didn’t “deal” with having a super powered baby, they just rehashed and extended the gag of Jack Jack and the babysitter from the first movie. He’s basically the sequel’s version of the squirrel looking for his nut in Ice Age or the minions from Despicable Me.

Another comment just to chime in, “same.”

Minor annoyance with these covid times, but I see so many of these zoom interviews where the “publication” doing the interview always seems to be paying less attention to sound quality than the person being interviewed. C’mon guys, pretend to be professional, take a moment to test the sound quality before an interview

If we’re going to tear apart something, I suggest it be this form of “article” writing. This feels like the laziest form of new media, retweeting people in article form and pretending like twitter responses represent some kind consensus.

If they killed off the Kate Kane character, it wouldn’t really be equitable to this particular trope would it? I may be misunderstanding, but I thought the idea of “bury your gays” is that the LGBTQ character can’t have a happy ending, that storytellers tend to feel the need to lean into the tragedy of their stories

I love Regina Spektor so the length of the into didn’t bother me, but I remember always rushing to that skip or mute button because it was so loud! Was netflix worried I was falling asleep at the end of each episode?

Good job guys! BLM”

i.e. Ayer sees Snyder getting an easy paycheck, and is now going to talk about his totally different director’s cut that fan’s can see if he just tweets enough to make them believe its real.

I guess its just common place for them, but I’m not sure how that whole interview went by without neither of them mentioning that their backyard(s) are a magical enchanted forest.

It still strikes me as a weird decision to make Spiders Web but recast Lisbeth. I don’t understand what anyone was thinking here, “hey let’s cash in on the franchise by adapting the least of the known novels, AND while we’re at it lets recast it so there’s nothing to draw in the existing audience that might have liked

Would this make money? Suicide Squad made box office, but did it create the kind of fan base that would shell out for a special director’s cut? Snyder, for whatever reason, has groupies. Ayer doesn’t, and I don’t think Suicide Squad as a franchise does either.

Man this is a show I miss. Mantzoukas as Plato also ranks high up there for me.

My introduction to Lin Manuel Miranda (without realizing it at the time or even after I had become addicted to the Hamilton soundtrack) was the This American Life segment that he wrote into a musical. For a period of time I had that time stamp in my podcast app memorized so I could cue it up to that spot on demand.

Now playing

I know dude-bro isn’t an original idea, but still Zeus gave me some real PFT as Santa vibes.

Soap operas and sitcoms! I remember one of the interesting stories about Fillion was having to be talked into taking the role on Firefly by Whedon, because his acting career up to that point had nothing like that and he didn’t think he had the chops to pull it off.

There was a brief period where Fox was trying to be a streaming service for its own shows and it brought that show out of the woodworks and put the whole first season on it (what there was of the 1st season at least), it was a much better show than I would have even expected from such a random concept, I would have

I mean, I feel like what you’re describing is the definition of modest success? Modest success isn’t a slight, just illustrating that the show’s broadcast run doesn’t come close to reflecting the audience the show now has due to re-runs and netflix. At the time, the show didn’t win its time slot, only had one season

I’m going to start Some Jealous News, where I just rant about how jealous I am of Krasinski’s seemingly charmed life. I mean, modestly successful sitcom role turning into a runaway netflix binge watch success that has kept it a relevant pop culture fixture a decade later, and that sitcom turning into a random meeting

I also imagine even just an 8-hour normal work day is going to feel exhausting after you’ve had emergency back surgery.
