And as the last calendar year of my 30s comes to a close, my journey into curmudgeonly irrelevance begins. While I do like a lot of the music mentioned, I find myself appalled that an album as skillful, honest, and unhinged as Alabama Shakes' "Sound and Color" gets the slightest bit of recognition. It happened to me

I believe that this is an issue of age to some extent. Take Like Clockwork… and Atoms for Peace, and you have albums made by players in their 40's, whereas Vampire Weekend and Fall Out Boy specifically get praised for being more "adult," while they are just cracking 30(?). The staff seems to be skewing younger, which
