I’m having such a hard time wrapping my head around D&D deciding to end it with two short seasons while HBO was completely fine with full 10 ep seasons for 7 and 8, and even wanted more than that. Like why rush to the end like this?
Not to mention being cruel to Brienne just because the writers could. Create happiness to destroy it. They could have had the same ending with him just sneaking off after the ice zombies dropped.
Credit where it’s due: Emilia Clarke has usually not been much more than a decent actress (though I’ve often defended her from critics who assert she’s bad, which I don’t think she has been), but she has been absolutely wonderful this season, even as the writing for her character has turned into a trainwreck.
I think there’s room for Arya to consider what’s next for her after bagging the ultimate kill. I could even see the Hound being the one to show Arya the perils of letting revenge consume you. Of course, none of that narrative work actually happened on screen.
What an utterly baffling episode. It’s almost like this show got cancelled and the producers clapoed their hands and said, “Mm’k, let’s get this shit over with.” And then proceeded to finish the series out in the most basic way possible while ignoring 90% of the built of mythos of the books and the last 7 seasons
Honestly maybe even worst served than Dany’s arc was Jaime’s.
What in the seven hells was Jaime’s plan? Did he seriously want to run back to Cersei, even when it was clear she hired a hitman to kill him? The framing of their death being tragic was really weird.
What are the odds that Jaime not only runs into Euron, but get to Cersei just in time so they can die together?
The endless whining in this and other comment boards about a mad queen going mad is genuinely tiring.
The attack was amazing, but it seemed really easy for Drogon to just burn the Iron Fleet and all the ballistas, but whatever
The part of Cap picking up Mjolnir that I loved most was that it paid off the party scene from Age of Ultron when he budged it, and Thor had a concerned/knowing look on his face.
If there’s one real gripe I have about this movie, it’s with how they misused Captain Marvel. They’ve essentially turned her into a flying Deus Ex Machina that’s nearly invincible when she’s needed to further the plot, but reduced to semi-mortal because they also need to make sure she doesn’t turn into a Mary Sue. …
Picture a theater of almost 200 people answering all of T’Chala’s war chants. The room exploding when Captain America picked up the hammer for the first time. That is how I describe what I saw last night. It was more than a movie it was an experience. It was something I can talk about for years to come. It is…
Endgame is a movie that on a “plot level” will not hold up to any scrutiny on a major or minor scale.
So it seems pretty clear that Thor Lebowski is going to be a huge Halloween costume this year, right?
so much of this movie is plotholes.
You’re not wrong, so big public revelation time: Having rewatched Infinity War a couple times, I’d probably bump it up to a B-. I do think Endgame is slightly better—there are stretches I’d call a total blast. Both have issues in my book; they just happen to be different ones.
Thanos was Tony Stark’s father all along.
We’ve reached the end game people. Good luck to all those trying to avoid spoilers until they get to see the film.
And to think, there’ll actually be packed theaters at 2:30 in the morning of people watching this for the second or third time. What a fascinating yet horrifying time to be alive.
