Yeah I think a lot of it is the broadcast. NBC’s insistence on tape delays and framing personal narratives and all that other crapola gets in the way of just watching events unfold live.

HUGE part of that is the tape delay though tbh. All the fun of turning on the TV at 2 in the morning to watch an event is ruined, and all in the name of commercials. It doesn’t even flow better, the awkward stop/start/skip competitors format is just terrible.

Growing up is learning about how shitty the Olympics are, to the point where it’s hard to enjoy them. I loved the Olympics as a kid so much.

Bald guy by choice here. After you bic your head, given a half day’s growth, your head turns into a big round globe of sandpaper. Thus, no tape, likely just miniscule stubble. I hope this has been enlightening.

My 7 year old niece has devised a chart where she puts stickers on squares that are numbered. The numbers correspond to a list of misogynistic hot phrases she hears at school, on TV, from my mother, etc. When her chart is full she hands it to the closest adult and demands $20 for Space Camp.

I can’t believe anyone is calling this human ‘idol,’ regardless of her side eye skills.

That would be a perfectly acceptable statement if the system wasn’t set up so young productive players also do not get paid. The “what can you do for me now” attitude should apply both ways.

Honestly I think the Democrats should support funding for the wall on the Condition that it be named the Barack Hussein Obama Freedom Memorial Wall, and see how that sits with him.

While everyone here loves to hate on Morning Joe (often for good reason), his suggestion is actually pretty good: pay for every wounded veteran to come march down Pennsylvania avenue to show Cadet Bonespurs and the rest of the chickenhawk congress what war is.
