@Duane: It's a little more complex than that because one of Automator's abilities is to execute a shell script. There are probably Mac-specific ways in a shell script to do all the things that Automator does, but Automator makes it easier.

@apollo89: Automator does exactly that - automates. Since it's built into OS X, it can execute any action that you could normally do in the operating system.

Wow, so instead of doing the "normal" thing and promoting one's own browser, Google basically says, "Just stay away from IE." If they had added support for Opera to the mix, that would have been truly hilarious.

@Chicken: Go to Staples website and show him the direct copy on the homepage. If he believes that Staples is a reputable business, he should come around.

@garbanzo-bean: Okay, so the new policy should be: "If you live in Country X, don't bother reading this article."

@semi: I definitely agree. I use Pidgin over Digsby because it's light and easy, but when there's ZERO innovation going on, it does lead you to wonder if it's worthwhile to stick with the product.

I'm an avid user of Slicehost (that'll let you do anything pretty easily), but it's definitely geared more towards heavy Linux/system administration usage. I've heard pretty good things about Dreamhost, so maybe they're worth a look.

So, unless I'm mistaken, this is like Dropbox, but:

@haworthl: Unfortunately, that's how the Gmail gadet and Firefox extension both are; I'm wondering if that's an issue on RTM's side of things.

@Ross Goodman: So you don't have to have Firefox open just to look at your tasks.

@jorgeRB: Me too!!! Ughhhh. This was the ONE thing I needed Picasa to do...

@matrixclown: So, in your opinion, Launchy is IE and Executor is Firefox?

Does anyone actually use MobileMe? I'd like to hear your experiences.

Vote: RetailMeNot

...or you could just pay for ForkLift and get the same functionality inside a dual-pane file manager that's so much better than Finder.

VERY cool idea - already caught a little bug, however: when you search a location in Maps, Firefox opens a new tab with a blank text field, while the original map (in Gmail) hangs on "Loading..."

@jaxun: I LOVE Portable DriverMax. Soooo nice. :)

@St3v3: But I LIKE stickers. :(
