@ShankariHippodamia: Uhh, wow. Haha. I'm curious - if you and your friends have already adopted a broad scale boycott of all things American, why do you care who Americans elect as President?

I can't wait until Verizon brings out its next-gen phones (which I'm told will run Android). It's going to be sweet to play with all these apps!!! :)

@Yorke_and_Vedder: Same here - AVG tends to overreact with software that contains "malicious hacks." I'm pretty sure the apps it's screaming about are safe - I wish AVG had a better way to say, "No, this app is fine."

@chuckiemac: I don't understand what you mean by "it doesn't do SSH/SCP." ForkLift supports SFTP, which is FTP over SSH. Perhaps the tunnel is misconfigured? I'm not sure.

@phoenix: I don't why there is this sentiment that Spybot is "becoming less effective" - these days, they have updates nearly every day. Are these updates just not as comprehensive as other programs' updates?

@vishr: Absolutely! Talk about great amounts of innovation in a relatively short period of time.

@neilw21: AMEN. No more iGoogle crap - this is starting to be a great one stop shop.

@mballai: I know it isn't free, but I recommend you check out ForkLift - I am in love with this program. My favorite part is that it doesn't just do FTP, but SFTP, WebDAV, Amazon S3, and any other kind of server connection you could ask for. Check it out!

Cool idea, but I just don't want to run Java for something like this, you know? I want NATIVE PLATFORMS, man!

I agree that this is cool, but I, too, just can't think of a place where I'd actually use it. :(

@P_Smith: I don't necessarily think formats are "failing to fall by the wayside" because they are better than 7zip. ZIP, RAR, etc. are the standards and people tend to shy away from changing standards (like how the business world uses Vista because it's "the business standard," regardless of how crappy it is). If

Unfortunately, iTunes is still loading (1.5 minutes later) so I'll have to wait this one out. :(

Could this be the release that finally pushes Office out the door? We shall see.

@Zepth: My friend, you show me something that can manage my iPod Touch in Linux, and I'll move back in a heartbeat.

@MCWHAMMER: Haha, come on - that restart takes, what, 30 seconds? Still way better than Windows restarting after nearly every update.

I love this thing. It's like DownThemAll for the desktop! (kinda?)

UGGGHHHH, whatever, man. When mobile platforms (or whatever) can design an interface that's comparable to Gmail, then IMAP from Gmail makes sense. Until then, does everyone agree that any Gmail-to-other-platform conversion is kind of a let down?

@Dylan: COOL. How do you like VMWare Fusion over Parallels?
