There is a performative element to social media that can be toxic in nature.

I’ve hosted that party more times that I can count.

I am so hearing this. A shimmeringly perfect-world mommy-blogger I know is one of the craziest psychos I’ve ever met.

Loved this trench coat from Pugh’s 2009 collection.

The whole spectacle was a dismal one; O’Reilly proclaimed his innocence and touted his book and website while Lauer was left attempting to write O’Reilly’s redemption arc for him. “Since your firing have you done some soul-searching?” Lauer asked. “Have you done some self-reflection? Have you looked at the way that

Haha! What a thoughtful gift. I’m so glad Amy mentions gifts for alcoholics! Booze is so done. I need a comprehensive gift list for the alcoholics in my life!

It’s so cool that all of the fans are depicted in straight-up full color: none appear to be in the grays.

I am hearing you. I’ve found that only people who themselves struggle with chronic conditions are sympathetic, and open to conversation about the details. Everyone else is frightened– by anything that might threaten their imagined “invulnerability.”

Thank you for sharing your experience; I know from whence you speak. The emotional landscape continues to change, and I’ve slowly learned that one has little choice but to learn, to adapt, and to make the best of it.

I noticed that too. Was it a side hug, or a way to keep her from running offstage while she and Lily railed against Trump? ;o)

I suspect you’re right, but reading the unspoken tension between the three women during that presentation, it makes me realize that while Jane and Lily are obviously largely on the same page, differences in temperament and willingness to court controversy are probably why Dolly is the odd (wo)man out in that trio.

I admire your ability to just straight up explain what the problem is, but when I have tried to explain, even to very close friends, I can see that some information just ends up being a burden, a cause of worry or anxiety that they really didn’t ask for and which I don’t want to inflict on anyone. I’ve also found it

It’s gorgeous! For some reason I can’t explain, Jane’s comments on animal behavior always make me want more sex. Anyone else?

Say what you want about Blake Lively films– her trailers are unfailingly awesome.

I know, which makes it all the more confusing. One perception is that they can’t quite figure out who to aim the jokes at. If the jokes all require that you be over-60 to “get it,” then they’re excluding the enormous under-60 television-viewing audience, who haven’t experienced enough aging to “get it.” But if they

Fucking awesome.

ANY chronic health condition is the worst. There are things you are unable to do, and it is often difficult to explain why to people– colleagues, casual acquaintances, even friends and family.

Thank you for the links.

It’s not in Dolly’s nature to shit talk anyone. Probs not even Hitler.

I’m a big fan of Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and 9 to 5. But I think the writing on Grace & Frankie is awful. They’ve got all these terrific actors, expensive sets, a shitton of attention; so what gives with the lousy writing, guys? I’ve tried to get into it several times but have frequently turned an episode off halfway
