There are many LGB supporters and, indeed, many LGB people themselves who are transphobic. Being supportive of some parts of the queer community does not inherently mean one isn’t transphobic as, I’d argue, Midler’s tweet above shows.

I had the displeasure of spending a bit of time around this smarmy fuck when he was running for Texas Land Commissioner. He is quite possibly the worst of all the Bushes, and he hasn’t even done anything (yet) for which he should be tried for war crimes. He’s just the absolute fucking worst.

I saw that video on Vine initially, so I didn’t know the origin. I though it was just some drunk asshole. Now that I know it was a stunt, it immediately makes me angry. Someone had to clean up her intention, like when people were pulling “pranks” by falling and smashing gallons of milk on the floor in grocery stores.

It’s true. People who haven’t been through it or haven’t studied it, in depth, don’t understand the illness or what is necessary to recover from it.

Until a person has been sober for several months, or even a year, it’s impossible to tell what symptoms/characteristics are her personality and what are the effect of addiction, and what are the effect of trauma, etc.
