Not to be a debbie downer but my mom had pretty moderate cystic acne until she went through menopause in her mid 50s. I’m in my mid 20s and have had the same terrible skin for over a decade and am now anticipating it for many more to come. Best resolution I’ve come to is to buy good quality makeup and just try not to

That’s ok! There’s so many different levels in my class and everyone seems to really enjoy it. I actually prefer it to yoga classes (which I also enjoy) because it seems less competitive and less pretentious. For example, in yoga classes there’s always women wearing $100+ of fancy lululemon gear whereas in ballet

Thank you! In some ways its a big relief but also, I constantly feel anxious as if I should be doing something but I don’t know what that is. I guess it must be normal and am kind of hoping that it will all sort itself out with time (and like you said, a lot of sticky notes and spur of the moment messages). Enjoy your

Yes, same story for me! After a few months at the community center I’m actually considering shelling out a bit more per month to get the snobby ballet school experience again (ha! maybe I’m a masochist?) but definitely a good way to test if you are still into it before investing the money. I agree that going once is

second recommendation for Americanah! It’s by far my favourite book I’ve read in about 5 years (anything by her though is fantastic, to be honest).

Hijacking this thread to ask for recommendations for historical fiction recommendations? Favourites include Americanah, Poisonwood Bible and Cutting For Stone (although it need not be African-centric...just the first few to come to mind.

Kind of off topic but I’ve recently started “adult ballet” once a week and found that it has been incredibly therapeutic and worth while. I did ballet for almost a decade when I was a kid, with the costumes and competitions and all, but this is obviously much different and very meditative. I also found lessons at the

Well, I don’t have much to contribute to this SNS and after 3+ years of commenting I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll always be in the greys, howeeeever I’ve definitely been looking forward to the thread all day. I graduated a week ago and am currently at that quarter-life crisis, which was much anticipated but still

Congratulations! Yesterday I also handed in my last undergrad essay. I was riding an absolute high of joy, but by today the panic is already very real.

Yay for dance parties! This is a great tip, thanks :)

This is fantastic! I feel like I resort to the ‘numbing’ techniques way too much, but I’m going to try to utilize the other categories! I went on a long walk after posting this and am already feeling much more energetic and balanced.

I am so close to obtaining my bachelors degree and every day simultaneously feels a million years long and also somehow goes by way too fast. In the next two weeks or so I have three 15 page papers to write and 3 exams to take. I took off time from work to get everything done but I find myself procrastinating and

Kind of a side note but did anyone watch season 2 of Fargo with Kirsten Dunst? She was so fantastic in it and prior to that I didn’t think I really saw her as a true actor.

Look at those beautiful green eyes! My kitty loves belly rubs and soft blankets too

I haven’t cooked in forever (thankful for my domestic boyfriend or I’d be living off of boxed soup) but tonight I made shakshuka with veggie sausage, fried eggs and homemade beer bread. It was delicious and I think it’s inspired me to aim to cook more.

Hi everyone! Bit late to the party.

You got it :)

Lol oh man I guess I’m just a naive east coaster at heart then. But nope, it’s Vancouver.

Hi all, I know I’m late to the party and in the greys, so don’t know if I’ll get any responses (or any sympathy; fair enough).

retin-a did a pretty good job at fading dark spots, but it didn’t help with my existing acne so I guess it depends on the current state of your skin.
