Yeah, but Ottawa proper actually has more people than Vancouver. And that's the point. Canada isn't just "Canada". I could have gone more obscure and picked Moose Jaw or Medicine Hat. But the point really is that the capital of Canada has significantly lower cost of living than Vancouver.

I'm not entirely sure that's true. Reading the comments on the linked site, you can see, as an example, the Filipinos talking about how expensive Manila is. If you find wanted to live in Manila but found out it's 3x the cost of the Philipines average, what have you accomplished?

It was big news if it was a big game but there were a ton of buggy games. Darklands circa 1992 was a buggy mess. Outpost 1994 was virtually unplayable. Temple of Elemental Evil would wipe out your entire hard drive (didn't Elder Scrolls have something nasty too?). Plenty of bad actors in days of yore.

I think this is the key. This is the richie riches way of pretending that their kids are going to be as tough as the kid who has to literally make a living with strength (the farmhand, the dockworker, the construction worker, the warehouse guy). It's an inferiority complex.
