Uber is a dose of reality that the taxi industry has been needing for awhile. They set stupid rates, and no one is there to challenge them. The more rural you are, the more you will pay. I’ve paid almost $40 with tip to go 7 miles in a taxi.

I’ve grown into being a cyclist, about 90% of the time. I was, am and always will be a car nut. I get a little ground down by the car vs cyclist debate/slagging match.

whats it matter, recently a guy was driving with a .228 BAC, hit and killed a cyclist, and only got a misdemeanor. I’m not afraid of being hit by a car when cycling, but i’m afraid of getting killed and having my family watch their sons killer walk away scott free.
