I think he has a 1st Amendment defense. The car, its paint and decals are a form of expression. Based on the article above, there is nothing on the car that states that it was part of any police department, nor was the driver dressed as or acting like a law enforcement officer. Putting some "policy" looking decals

No teenage gear head I know can afford the parts for a Porsche or Beemer. And the MK4 Jetta is a great solution if you want your teenage gear head to swear-off being a gear head - When they run they are nice little cars, but the constant engine and electrical issues will make them swear off cars forever. AND -

While the S2000 is a nice car it is way too over-priced for a teenage gear head. The answer is still Miata.

My 72 year old mom still rows a 6-speed manny in her canary yellow RX-8.

So that basically makes the one dealer in south-eastern CT (Stamford) the only real choice for all of New England (ME, VT, NH, MA, RI, CT), the eastern half of NY state, northern NJ and northeast PA. Note that the one dealer in NY is on Long Island - a PITA to get to except for Long Island, NYC and parts of NJ.

My very first car was a '72 MG Midget. Last spring we did some car shuffling at home which left me looking for a new (to me) ride. The current Outback model evolved from the Legacy wagon (not the Impreza as pictured).

1972 MG Midget - Because Mom sold the mint '68 Malibu v8 that she got from her Mom a few years before I got my license (THANKS MOM!) Because dad knew how to work on them from his days owning an Austin Healy Sprite. Because I was able to tow it home for only $250. Because it taught me how to work on cars (because -

Annette Funicello? This would be about the time of her hey-day with Frankie Avalon and the beach blanket - surfing movies.

Not only is that Ala Moana, but I THINK that's Annette Funicello!

These ship breaking yards are predominantly located in the poorest countries in the world with non-existent safety and environmental controls like Bangladesh and India. These places are horror shows.

At $100K it's just too hard to ignore the fact that the GT-R is butt-ugly.

WHAT! No Tick-Tock Diner in N.J.? I call shenanigans!

This could wind up in the federal courts, but only if Tesla can frame an argument that this practice by a state is a restriction of interstate commerce that violates the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution. Otherwise it is a state question and the individual state supreme courts will be the final word in each
