There's an old joke on set. You've got a gun and two bullets, and the director, Osama Bin Laden and Sadaam Hussein standing together, what do you do? Shoot the director twice.

It's just disingenuous and why reality TV could not be further from reality. It glorifies fighting the bad fights, and artistic principals don't equate to artistic talent.
Would be nice to see someone outside of Effie assert their leadership.
Wouldn't say this is a smoking gun but…
Was just thinking what is the difference between having Marc Joubert and Len Amato on the set versus just putting a sandbag on their director's chairs? I think the bags of chips on the crafty table are much more productive and they only cost 35 cents.
Absolutely. Miramax had the deal with Kodak before the series even started according to marketing on their site.
If you notice, no danish for the extras.
My hat is off to Twojay (the camera operator) who if you noticed was wearing an 'Alexa' cap in this episode. For those not in the know, Alexa is on of those digital cameras that Jason is so repulsed by, and it happens to be made by Arri, a company that made some of the best film cameras ever, but evolved when they…
Don't be sad, this situation seems to only exist in LA.
Never once have I seen anyone on a NY film set make race an issue, not in anyway.
They may indeed have done that - extras are not "cast" they're wrangled, meaning that anyone who wants about $180 dollars for a days work where they are told to stand in a corner or pretend to be a chaffeur will do. What Effie did was make sure that instead of possibly having a brief closeup or even a word or two,…
I've worked on hundreds of productions and I would not be there for even a minute if I weren't getting paid, but even on lower budget shows, the extras want to be there so much that I've seen them volunteer to get kicked in the junk without a cup.
What about that driver?
Just to set the record straight - The only reason film is not dead is that Kodak had to convince studios to keep shooting film for five years (don't want to be conspiratorial, but I imagine there was some consideration or very deep discounts given).
Jason and Effie are the exact reasons why an otherwise fun business is anything but.
Both are inflexible and neither of them know their responsibilities. To those who say they are just trying to exert their own styles, false, they are creating drama (which is probably intended). Since everyone who works on a film is…
Do you think that maybe there is some Quid Pro Quo between E-Film and Effie? I think people are missing the point that Farrelly offered to bring Jason to another shop to check out their process. I know there are strong relationships in the business that sometimes go beyond who offers the best service for the bid.
