The monster specifically targets those that feel like they've strayed from society's norms - cutting away those people that make them feel grounded and normal until their loneliness and isolation encourages them to give up their physical forms as a host body.

I've got four projects in the pipeline right now. My job is super draining and soul-crushing so it's hard to get much work done - but I am excited about them. Two movies, a TV series, and a homosexual dating sim about gladiators.

Yeah, it took so many different forms over time. Always changing, and almost always for the better. Just trust yourself and your judgment. It helps if you have someone who's willing to read your endless drafts and give you feedback too. :)

Oh yeah! The same then-boyfriend and I saw the British TV adaptation of that at the Alamo Drafthouse two Christmas Eves ago. I'd forgotten all about it. It was equally effective there - unfortunately undercut by the adaptation being incredibly poorly paced with some really awkward acting choices.

I dunno. Sinister just seemed like a feature-length Creepypasta with jump scares. Lots of them do that "you are aware of the creature, and now the creature is aware of you" thing. Side note: There are some magnificent Creepypasta out there that I'd like to see turned into films. Namely Penpal - which is so

I'll second this request, actually. Or at least a general idea of the gore level. I'm mad-squeamish.

Damn right it is. I've been working on this one for about six years. Got pretty far into the Austin Film Festival competition last year (highly recommend it when you finish) - so hoping this fresh draft will actually do alright for the festivals this year.

I think I have that. This is my first script - so I tried to follow a fairly traditional formula. (IE: Shit goes to hell at the end of the second act, with the third act taking place in a supernatural mindscape crafted from the protagonist's memories - specifically, those of his failings. The usual shit.)

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check him out.

So, here's a question - I just wrote what I initially intended to be a horror script. It's got a monster, it's got teenage death, etc. But the final product ended up more . . . coming-out and first relationship drama with supernatural menace. I think it's pretty alright - but I don't know how much its lack of scares

I think the only part of that movie that really stuck with me was that shot of the sheet flying off the line and landing on -something- before flying back up to the window.

You're raising a good kid.

My biggest question: when does Meatballs get his own Banana episode?

Yeah. I feel like that is more common. Everyone is someone's type - and it so rarely seems to overlap how you want it too.

Well, for what it's worth, I think you're pretty cute. From the thumbnails. Maybe I'm missing the point.

Holy shit, Franzese. I dunno if that was a prop - but goddamn. I want what that man is selling.

This episode blew me out of the water. Soos' total devotion to Mabel and Dipper - to actually being an adult and protecting them - that definitely stuck with me as a moment that really matters in this show's story. I hope that it will lead to some real character work for Soos - as I feel he's generally that character

Why would you want to know the plot of the episode rather than his response to those events? That's a synopsis. Just watch the damn thing, and Alasdair's review will make sense.

You should have acknowledged that it was an instrument, then.

"Oh, hey, a new piece on the AVclub. Maybe I'll check out the comments to see what they have to say."
