Marceline, is it just you and me in the wreckage of the world?
Marceline, is it just you and me in the wreckage of the world?
It's just a sub job, in the show's defense. In a lot of places the only requirement for one is a bachelor's degree - my district was like that. We watched Remember the Titans a lot.
You and I are on the same page. There are, like, fifteen Elijah's that sort of mingle around on the edges of the gay social groups that I also mingle around the edges of.
The homage to those episodes in a recent Steven Universe episode made me go back and rewatch both of them. It was a mistake. I was constantly weeping for the rest of the night.
So, I guess I'll be an anime nerd and go with an episode of Madoka Magica - Episode 10 "I Won't Rely on Anyone Anymore":
God, I love Morel Orel season 3. I think the moment that hits me hardest, in the best possible way, is Reverend Putty and his daughter talking about their past.
I'd also add in the Epilogue episode of Justice League Unlimited. It's the perfect cap on Batman as a character - sitting with Ace while her body shut down, carrying her out at the end. But every time I watch it, I can't help but sob uncontrollably.
Wow, I was genuinely surprised at how likable I found Hannah in the first few minutes of this episode. She seemed like, like she'd be a fun sub who wouldn't completely ditch the curriculum - she was being fairly down-to-earth and self-deprecating. I liked it all.
Someone took a high school debate class. Congrats.
Well, except the part where she died.
The conclusion that two people of opposite gender who have seen each other's genitals - when they exist in a society that places a taboo upon that to the point that many of our most basic facilities are structured around preventing that taboo (opposite gender restrooms, changing rooms, saunas - basically every public…
This is exactly what I was thinking. If you're having intimacy issues, the last person in the world you want to talk to is a fucking pastor. Cause 9/10, they'll probably just spout some "dutiful wife" bullshit or shame you for caring about sex in the first place. Maybe that's just me, raised in the south, projecting.…
Hey, not gonna disagree or tell you that it's the reasoning is justified/justifiable - but that is the reasoning. Not because everyone who reaches that conclusion are repressed. We probably are - but the two aren't necessarily related. (Side note - I've never seen any of my female friends naked, but I sleep with dudes…
Eh. To be fair, male and female friends very rarely see each other naked unless something intimate is going on. It could happen, sure, but there is a reason our minds go there .
Yeah. I'm still hoping it's all building to something - some moment where Oliver realizes that he's been a shitty leader, friend, boyfriend, and lover. Some moment where he acknowledges that maybe the other people on his team matter and that he's willing to actually listen to them.
Exactly the haircut I was thinking of.
If Ra's showed up on Gotham, they'd have to make sure to give him a goofy haircut that made it look like he had horns.
I actually like that Laurel went straight to "no, this is totally Merlyn's fault, not yours." Because that is the exact reasonable reaction. The fact that Ollie thought that that should be a secret just shows how little he really thinks of Laurel - I kind of get the feeling the writers are intentionally making all of…
Speaking as seemingly one of the only people on here who is really, truly not bothered at all by the Olicity stuff: meh? It's good for the characters to have room. Though, I will say Oliver hasn't been particularly flattering as a character lately.
I can't express my support of this show's decision to jettison all of it's stupid secrets enough. It makes everyone infinitely more likable when they're able to make an informed decision about what is happening - even if it's the wrong one.
