So far it's political intrigue with a murder mystery, set in outer space instead of 14th century Venice or Washington, DC. Which is great, because it's not really ABOUT outer space.

I don't know, I usually have to channel-check quickly past SyFy and FX.

Yeah, when I saw that they were star-like I figured it was an infection of some sort rather than wounds.

Anonymous bad guys are always terrible shots.

Has the Mormon Church commented on this story at all? One would think they would be either flattered—"See, we're still here in the next century", and their members are a good deal happier than the depressed, schlubby Miller—or else insulted by the insinuations of skullduggery.

I guess this is one time I'm glad I don't have a large-screen TV. Even sitting close to the television I couldn't quite make out if those marks were lesions or gunshot wounds. On this show everything is dark blue (except for Avasarala's fabulous coat).

Only 2 more episodes??? Gaaach! I could start reading the books but I don't want to spoil my fun. Maybe just the first one?

I was going to read the books and didn't get around to it, and was looking forward to this series with great anticipation. Unfortunately, almost every character is supercilious and unpleasant, I don't like brutality, so I will be spending my Mondays otherwise.

i can't figure out how he has just turned up at the house announced - did the Granthams invite him to live there? He seems to have simply arrived with child in tow and assumed he could resume residence.

I heard "Alice" also. Avasarala is intriguing (and gorgeously dressed), but I get put off by Shoreh's strong accent. Linguistically, someone who speaks a language that colloquially would have less of an accent.

It used to be illegal in Britain - "marriage with deceased wife's sister" - because she was one's sister-IN-LAW.

And his wife is properly "Lady Surname", not "Lady Heather."

They'll probably end up getting married.

Saying that someone "didn't come back" from the War, or later the camps, was indeed a common euphemism for "he's dead".

Or, making out with a busted nose is painful (as I can attest).

I'm really enjoying this, but I wish the font on the location captions wasn't so small. Space is big and all but i can barely find my way around.

With regard to the passage of time, if it's 1925 then the characters are 13 years older, which means Daisy is nearly 30 and even Anna is getting a bit long in the tooth.

My aunt got married for the first time at 61, and she and my mother had a few eye-rolling chuckles about the "adjustments" she would have to make.

Diversity! *Somebody* has to be blond…

I got a kick out of Anderson's Belter accent sounding just like African English. Years ago I read a children's sf novel (sorry, do not remember the title) in which the Martians had developed a distinct accent.
