They HAVE a right to free speech; that’s why nobody was arrested simply for protesting or holding a sign or yelling a vile racist chant. Trump’s statement almost makes it sound like there is a normal, widespread division between blacks and whites. That isn’t the case. The division is between racists and non-racists, and the lunatics are a vocal few. His statement seems to normalize racism, which is pretty incredible.

In no way is your presence a gift. If anything, them throwing an extravagant affair that you get to attend could be seen as a gift to you. If the travel is too expensive, don’t go. If you pay for it because you want to be there, then go. Don’t call your vacation a gift for someone else.
