Idris Elba and Beasts of No Nation (actor and movie); Michael B. Jordan in Creed; possibly Will Smith in Concussion... that’s just off the top of my head. I’m sure there are plenty of others I don’t know about.

The problem is, these people are apparently unwilling to even discuss the situation. There’s a huge difference between “I prefer not to vax my kids” and “ALL WESTERN MEDICINE IS TRYING TO KILL YOU!!!!!” One at least indicates a willingness to consider the issue. The other is moronic.
More the attention than anything, I would think.
I don’t think he did. IIRC, what he said was that some of the women who came forward were found to be lying. Which is not quite the same thing.
NO GOAL!!!!!!! (but I was actually at Wide Right, so that one hit me a lot harder)
I’m 50 and I took my Dad with me last year. Mostly because I want to make sure he’s comfortable in the car - he has a lot of arthritis in his back, and some car seats are really uncomfortable for him. At least, that’s what I tell myself.
You keep saying that all porn is debasing and objectifying. That just isn’t true. As I stated before, I am referring to only feminist porn. How is it debasing and objectifying for two people who enjoy having sex, filming it, and distributing it to do just that? Why would it be harmful for anyone to view people who are…
Actually, feminist porn is men’s and women’s bodies engaging in a mutually consensual act that other people may enjoy watching. “Equality” isn’t a slogan; it’s a definition of feminism. It means that woman are free to do whatever they want, which includes participating in and watching porn. What other issues are…
Feminist porn has already been described to you - it’s porn that features two consenting adults having sex. When the man and the woman are both treated equally, that’s feminism. And please don’t give me bullshit about how “what if they’re both treated equally badly.” Treating people badly isn’t feminist.
I agree with your point, but even just explaining would make her feel publicly shamed. Unfortunately, the first reaction of a lot of people would be “well, if you can’t hold on to your man...” I think that showing people exactly what he did kind of hits them in the face with, “yeah, you’re right, he fucked up.”
If she had edited out anything that could identify the women, and not named any of them, I would fully support this action. It would save a lot of time that she would have otherwise spent explaining why she was dumping the guy.
I spent part of every summer for over thirty five years at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. After I graduated college, I would come home for part of the summer every year so that my grandmother and I could take a weekend trip there, usually seeing five plays in one weekend. Those times were priceless to me.
London!
Yup. And maybe ruffalo his hair :-)
I don’t know who Carrie Brownstein is, but her tweet about his death is perfect:
Fair enough. AFAIC the best movie I’ve seen him in is Shutter Island, but that’s mostly because I love Mark Ruffalo.
Uh, yeah - he is a bad actor. He never sounds like anyone but himself. Any one of the roles he’s played since Gilbert Grape, you look at him on screen and see Leo.
I’m pretty sure that what she’s talking about is specifically abortion rights. She’s saying that a lot of young women have become complacent because they have grown up with legal abortions.
Right there with you!! I feel like screaming every time I go to my pain doctor’s office, because the place is full of people who are so obviously suffering, and he’s already been raided once by the DEA. If he closes down, I don’t what we will do.
Definitely. And at least three hooks in the back.
